Among Hollywood's voluminous output of PC trash and mediocre remakes, there are perhaps two films in a given year I might have interest in seeing. Here's one of them. Never underestimate Hollywood's ability to turn a great idea into a shitty film, but I have high hopes this one is an exception. The one thing I see that gives me pause is umm are the directors. Da fuq? Multiverse Theory BTW, that's Jamie Lee Curtis at the beginning. Apparently, she represents the "great evil" spoken of, and hey, whadda ya know, it looks like the white people in the film are the villains. Apparently, this film was made for the international market, so a Chinese hero and evil whitey means big box office in China. | |||

Seems like a modernized and weirder (i.e. A24-ed) version of the Jet Li movie The One. Maybe with a bit of Cloud Atlas' navel gazing thrown in. Hopefully quirky and not pretentious, but I know I was confused as hell when I first saw the trailer come on the Youtubes...but it made me watch the whole way through instead of skipping, so there's that. ---------------------------- Chuck Norris put the laughter in "manslaughter" Educating the youth of America, one declension at a time. | |||
