I binge watched season 1. Finished at 4am. Now I feel half asleep.

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. This comparison of the real Kemper vs the TV one is interesting:

I finished binge watching this series last night. If you haven't seen it, then you should.

I finished binge watching it also. I thought it was well done. Not exactly what I was expecting, but I liked it. I think there will definitely be a season 2. I think the small few second clips they show at the beginning of each episode is the BTK killer. I think they will explore that next. If you have not read Douglas books they are excellent.

Good news is that a second season was green lighted back in April, before the show ever came out. I also love the show. The link below lays out a nice chunk of info (no spoilers I noticed), and that David Fincher put together what they call the “Bible” for the show as a 5 season run through the story arc. Also looks like S2 will focus on the Atlanta child murders of 78-80.

Glad to learn its returning next year (How could they NOT renew it?), but its going to be a long wait!

Thanks for the tip on Mindhunter. I'd scanned by it and read the description but farted it off. I'm not a big fan of psychological dramas.

Just watched the first two episodes and I'm going to have to make a conscious effort to pace myself. Good shows are not that common and it's going to be a loooong winter.

Another thing I like about this show is the attention to detail. Bill Tench wears a watch that is pretty specific to that time. One of those LED types in which the face is completely dark until you press a button to see the time. I had one of those many years ago and I don't know where one could even buy one today. The clothing, the cars, the houses all date back to that time period. And as someone else posted, even the actor that plays the killer (Kemper) looks amazingly just like the real man.

Great show, thanks for the recommendation. They've done a great job taking us back in time. The cars amaze me!

I binged watched it and enjoyed it. I will be curious to see how the expand it in Season 2. Really wish it had a been a full season and had allowed for better development for the MC. I needed more.

I haven't watched it, yet. Sounds a lot like "Criminal Minds," now in its 12th season.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

That was what I was expecting. Was not what I got. It's more like the explanation of how the science they use in criminal minds came into existence.

That's pretty much exactly it. It's about how the Behavioral Analysis Unit came to be. It was funny watching them sit around talking about "sequential murders" and saying "Nah, Joe Beat Cop needs something easier to put on reports" or whatever.

Reportedly the Criminal Minds characters Jason Gideon & David Rossi were based on John Douglas.
