Anyone else catch the first couple episodes? Liking it so far, Billy Bob Thornton spreading hate and discontent as only he can.

For the fourteen year old in all of us, there is a fair display of eye candy as well.

I thought that was The Fornicator, who interrupts criminals committing offenses and then buggers them to death.

I know nothing about oil & gas, I'm pretty sure Taylor Sheridan is in the same boat.

His daughter and wife are quite annoying but I am enjoying the show so far

Well it's not a documentary Razz

Pretty sure they aren't all JR and Bobby Ewing either, although some having FU money, they probably had a few hotties with them like Charlene Tilton, Linda Gray and V ictoria Principal Big Grin

It doesn't appear that you know what a landman or landwoman actually is. They are the people who buy land, lease land, buy right-of-way, buy access to aforementioned (e.g. roads and driveways), pay claims for damage to aforementioned, do landowner relations, and do public official relations. Almost none are executives and even fewer own an oil company like the Ewings. They spend more time reading surveys and deed restrictions than they do in a corporate boardrooms.

Pretty sure I don’t care.

Nash Bridges has zero to do with actual police work. I watch it to be entertained, not for tips n police work. Being able to separate entertainment from real life is a skill apparently.

Landman is entertaining. Billy Bob is entertaining in this character.

What I didn't know that "landman" is gender specific.
I guess that means a specific pronoun too, ehh?

A better analogy would be CSI. When CSI came out, LEOs on forums all over the internet were calling bullshit on how inaccurate it was. Especially when they spun off CSI Miami and David Caruso's character made it even more ridiculous.

Same, I watched the 1st 3 episodes so far.
As far as I'm concerned, it's a comedy, and not terribly bad if viewed that way. Razz

My sentiments exactly.

Billy Bob's character is something of a Honey Badger - He don't care WHO he pisses off and some of his come-backs are hilarious.

If I had the balls, I'd use some of them...

Interesting tidbit on Landman/landwoman/landpersons...

To clarify the point being made, that is, Its a TV show not a documentary about the oil business or landman/men. That these shows have little to do with reality of the business, and as such related to the Show Dallas, in that JR and Bobby were not real oil barons, even though a lot of oil barons had hottie wives or girl friends, or likely both Big Grin like Ali Larter Topless
