I was browsing the local gun boards and saw a post stating they were looking for a AR10 pattern gun and had a nice 357 lever action to trade. I messaged the guy for pics and he sent me pics of this nice all weather Henry. I traded him a Ruger SFAR that I liked but did no love. This gun is just beautiful with the black stock and hard chrome finish. It shoots beautifully as well. My Marlin 357 is butt ass ugly compared to this gun….lol ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice looking gun. While they don't have the traditional loading gate, I like the way they load. It is quicker and easier to work on/replace some parts. I have a .22 Henry and it is a great, fun little gun.

Congrats! That does look great. A .357 levergun is on my short list this year, in stainless if I can find one for a square deal. Like Pat, I think the spring tube style is easier to deal with for loading, yes, but also unloading. Quite handy. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

I dig. That will be a nice hog getter. -- I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. JALLEN 10/18/18 https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...610094844#7610094844

Very nice addition, bet it's a hoot to shoot. I wonder what is the velocity of a full power round when leaves that barrel? U.S. Army 11F4P Vietnam 69-70 NRA Life Member

Probably pretty zippy for the size. http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/357mag.html -- I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. JALLEN 10/18/18 https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...610094844#7610094844

I have one as well and LOVE this rifle. If you prefer a peep sight, try the Skinner. I never was partial to the buckhorn from the factory, and found the peep faster and my accuracy increased. phxtoad "Careful man, there's a beverage here!"

.357 mag from a 16-18” barrel has a significant fraction of the muzzle energy provided by 30-30 (around 1200 ft lbs compared to 1800). It can slap pretty hard for white tail sized game within 50 yards. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

I was just filling out an order on Grab-A-Gun, CZ pistol. While looking around they had the Marlin/Ruger 1894 in 357 on slight discount, $999. Kinda an impulse buy, but I haven’t bought in a fair number of months. Anyway, inbound, no real ‘need’, seems fun. I don’t like shooting the full power 357 loads in my handguns much anyway.

Very nice! I went to a gun show today and a S&W .44 Magnum followed me home. ![]() NRA Benefactor Life Member

I’ve been seriously thinking about getting a lever gun. Most of my reasons are made up justifications but still.

I agree. Just something about a lever gun. Now I have one in 30-30 and .44 Magnum. NRA Benefactor Life Member

This is one of those times when wanting one is reason enough. Do it. You'll enjoy it. I recommend one in .357 or .44 Mag. Cheaper and more fun to shoot than rifle calibers, and out of a 16-18" barrel those magnum pistol cartridges really wake up.
