After a couple of false starts, I think I'm satisfied with this set up. Light is a little further back than I wanted it, but it's solid as a rock. Arisaka 600 body w. Malkoff E2HTV3 lamp, Surefire switch and tailcap, Arisaka Scout mount. _______________________________ The artist formerly known as AllenInWV

Have you fired it much yet? I'm wondering if that heat shield will get hot enough to possibly damage the tape switch wire.

Oh no. A bit chilly here. LOL And I have one last bit of bling to put on before range day. I'm a novice to shotguns, especially semis...I don't see myself doing 'mag dumps' with it, do they get that hot?? <watches video> Wellll...I guess they do! _______________________________ The artist formerly known as AllenInWV

Allen, I recently acquired an A300 and have a few of the recent shotgun threads tagged for ideas and information, and would like to ask you a few questions. These cover aspects across the other thread titles, but thought that it would be ok to consolidate them here - 1. The LTT heat shield looks function and nice, and I did not know that I needed one until seeing yours and watching the video that para posted (and their installation video). Would you recommend it, or were there any others that you may have preferred? 2. Sling - What brand / model did you purchase, and, are you using the butt-stock attachment point as-is, or did you install an aftermarket attachment point, such as the one from GG&G - https://www.gggaz.com/beretta-...ing-attachments.html 3. Did you replace the plastic magazine tube cover with a metal one? 4. What are your thoughts, and the recommendations of the forum members as well, on carrying spare shells, with the purpose of home and personal defense? The ‘internet’ is all over the place on this, with the top choices being soft shell-cards mounted with velcro on the side of the receiver, or a ‘hard’ carrier also mounted on the receiver. I am a left-handed shooter in case this may make a difference. (Did your A300 include the mounting velcro in the box?) And, since this is the ‘Light solutions’ thread, I came across a decent deal on a Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount HL-X with a pressure switch and M-LOK mount and decided to purchase it. Thank you! I was disappointed that the Velcro wasnt included in my A300 box, I read that stopped supplying them awhile back. I like soft / Velcro placards, they are easy to swap out and are cheap. You being a lefty your mileage will definitely be different. I do plan to replace the plastic tube I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. David W. If you’re a lefty, I cannot recommend the GGG aluminum side saddle for the Beretta. At the rear, there is a protrusion on the mount that digs into my trigger hand. You can see it here, in this pic: https://www.gggaz.com/beretta-...holder-six-shot.html I’m actually gonna pull mine off of my 1301 Mod.2 and go with the Vang Comp Velcro one as soon as they come back in stock.

I am a Magpul fanboi and was looking at the GG&G Zhukov forend, but when I saw the LTT one, the cable management sold me.
Magpul MS-1, put a Magpul QD mount on the forend's left side and a GrovTec QD mount I put in the stock. Be warned (as I don't think it's mentioned on the GrovTec site) you need a 1/2" drill bit AND a 9/16 tap to install it.
Yup, the GG&G one, mainly because it's one piece.
I'm a shotgun noob, but having extra shells on the gun seems like a no-brainer. Being a lefty, you may have to experiment some to find a suitable location.
Yup. It was in the bag with those stock extension pieces. _______________________________ The artist formerly known as AllenInWV

A little off topic but check out the gg&g shell saddle with built in RMR mount! Mounted one on my A300 and couldn’t be happier. As for light, I don’t really worry about shadow.

I don't have the A300, but I do have a 1301. When I was looking to add a light to the 1301 someone suggested on another forum that I look into the AWLS by HRT. Ended up picking one up and absolutely love it. It has a directional tailcap so any way you push the "joystick" turns the monetary light on. Push it down and it will turn the light on and off. I didn't want to add a button somewhere else because I wanted to keep my 1301 as light as possible. Keep it simple! They also have a compact version of the same light. Weight difference is about 2oz. I wanted to go with that one, but the advertised 32 minute run time was a concern. The one I purchased advertises 103 minutes of run time.
This was the way I was initially going to go. Problem was the mount is kind of angled and just didn't sit right on my 1301 and I didn't want to add a small rail to make it work. Just another added attachment point and more weight.
