The deadblow buffers are very interesting. The MP5 line has similar designs built into their bolt carriers to prevent bounce. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. OK, you will need the proper trigger for the Super Selektor. Here are the proper inexpensive ones everyone is using. https://www.midwayusa.com/prod...025028297?pid=460889 It needs to look like this. So it can be modified like this where I took some material down. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.

Everything is on its way.. correct H3 buffer, compatible ALG trigger (per the Atrius site) and of course.. the Super Selector. "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway." Steve McQueen...

If you're gonna do a 9mm, you need to make some modifications. First you MUST have an inertial dampening deadblow buffer. You can't use a standard heavy solid buffer. THere are several for 9mm, even one with lead shot in it. I bought a 10oz tungsten slugged one by Kaw Valley. They HAVE to rattle around in it. THEN you MUST cut a groove or a chunk out of the weight in the bolt to clear the lever. I did this with the Devil's Toothbrush®. Work slow, take your time. Mark the weight before you remove it to cut. This is not my original bolt that I blew up. This is a fully supported internal extractor two piece bolt. An OBD won't affect it. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.

OK, the CMMG kit. I adjusted it for the CMMG as the Ciener is a vintage kit. 40gr high velocity ammo is a must. THe CCI minimags work the best. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.

Worked out a sale with a friend, and I asked for his Atrius in partial trade. I'll be dropping that in my 11.5" URGI tomorrow afternoon. Now to review the technical pointers so helpfully posted over the last several pages about tuning everything so I don't snap that cam lever off. Best outcome is I get it running smoothly and with my Geissele. Oh... and it'll be paired with one of the lowest backpressure cans currently on the market, which I am also picking up tomorrow. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

Mine is in a CMMG Banshee radially delayed blowback. The radial delay allows for much lower mass in the BCG and buffer than a direct blowback AR. It also suppresses better because of the delay, less pop from the ejection port.

Took the Atrius in trade yesterday. Haven't had a chance to look at it yet, hoping to tonight or tomorrow. Watched some videos about fitting and function and I think I have a decent handle on what I need to do. Have some cheapo parts kit triggers I can mess with. My hope is to have it functioning by the weekend, and a couple extra different springs and buffers to try it with. I'm going to throw it in my other SBR'ed lower, and if it function checks correctly, take it out with a variety of uppers and see how it does.
Yeah, if I pick up a DD PCC, I may very well install a Maxim roller delay buffer. It comes with a hydraulic buffer, but I keep hearing about the RDB being the cat's ass for AR9's. Haven't looked into whether anyone's tried the one in the other yet, but if it doesn't work, the stock hydraulic buffer supposedly makes it a very smooth shooter. We'll see what shakes out. I have what is essentially a zero backpressure can, so it shouldn't matter too much as far as port pop. It even outdid my friend's Flow 9K that way on our independent testing. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

This guy has a TON of info on various 9mm AR systems. His site is worth a perusal as you consider various systems and buffers/springs. https://c3junkie.com/?page_id=164

Got my pair of Atrius Super Selectors in the mail today. Came from Dallas, I’m just north of Fort Worth. Kinda funny. Should have all the parts necessary now, just need to sit down and do some shade tree gunsmithing. "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway." Steve McQueen...

Ok, going to drop the Atrius into my spare SBR lower later today. I set aside several different parts kit triggers to see which one would get me the closest and planning to just modify that one if need be. Maybe a fool's errand, but we'll see.
Ooohh, thanks for that. I had found his site before when looking into the Bixler mounts and stayed for his articles on subsonic 9mm loadings, but I somehow missed the page with all those others. I have homework. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

This is the 9mm buffer that is popular with 9mm subgun shooters. I also have a 10oz tungsten slug deadblow, but I'm going to see which works best. https://kakindustry.com/k-spec...15-pcc-buffer-8-6oz/ ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.

Tomorrow is the test of the DOE with the new bolt and buffer. Hopefully it will go butter butter butter butter butter without going bang this time. Fingers crossed for a new video with giggles all around. A successful run will give me the first DOE with a successful FRT. I REALLY don't want to reprofile the barrel throat. Oh, THREE more selektors are in the mail and two arrived this week. I have a mound of triggers to modify for these. I ordered some tungsten slugs to install in my rifle buffers just in case. The Dinky™ and the 733 work flawless. I want one in the Dissi and one in the A2. One is for my boss and he is also having me make a .22 kit work. He bought a bottom of the line PSA M4 that everyone else is sacrificing for this setup. I have a guest coming over Sunday I really want to play with these. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.

I put a Super Selektor in SC's M16 upper with an H&R M16A1 lower and standard rifle buffer, it worked flawlessly. Cycled at a much lower rate than the carbines. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.

OK, A Super Safe Solutions kit arrived today. For $50 I was able to assemble this in 20 minutes. This is a drop in kit. You can get it assembled, ready to go for $80, or $50 for the assemble it yourself kit, which I opted for. You have to pin the pieces together and peen the pins, then grind them down. I used a 400 stone, then an 800 then 1000. I also polished off any rough edges, then glued the spring in. A dab of grease and it's ready to just drop in. The 3d printed three position safety works, but is a guide to cut your own three position safety out of the KAK three position blank safety. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it!
