Too bad about the stock, but there’s no sense in putting up with something that’s not right if we don’t have to. Thanks for the report about the torque settings check. I’ve seen discussions of that process, but because the 22 Long Rifle cartridge’s discharge forces on the stock/bedding are so small I’ve always been a little suspicious of whether they were just for YouTube clicks. I like SK Standard Plus for the shooting I do, but it is a little inconsistent at times. ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz

Fun Build… Timney trigger installed. (CZ457ST @ 10oz.) Barrel (Lilja 0.90”x 21”) shimmed to Eley spec headspace of 0.040”. Interesting exercise, I measured 18 Eley ammo cartridges, 3 each from 3 different lots of Match and Tenex. I got 0.039” on all but one (closer to 0.038), so the 0.040” is rim plus 0.001” Hopefully, it will still shoot SK and other brands (standard SAMMI headspace is 0.043”) but if not, I’ll have to switch to Eley Club for practice (or maybe even Wolf Match since Eley is making that now). Chassis decision was tough. Wanted a Vision Gen 2 but…cost! The shape on the MDT is similar to my Bergara and I really like bag rest cut-out on that. I don’t use a rear bag on the bench and my support hand fits it perfectly. I also liked the look of got2hav1’s in the Tikka thread (and I didn’t have to drop another $1.5K for it.) Maybe Santa will read my letter and bring a Vision. Until then, this will do. Takeaways… 1) Well worth the upgrades. Especially the chassis. 2) My Tikka trigger really sucks. Jard Match trigger on the way. Season, sight in, and first 3 - 5 shot groups. May have to keep her. I'm gonna go shoot more. This message has been edited. Had to change the thread title since after all my futzing, this is no longer an MTR. Heck, it’s barely a CZ with the receiver assembly being the only CZ part left. Trying out a new scope I’ve heard very good things about. Sightron BRD SII 36x42 TD1 Target. Not much more $$ than SWFA and a multiple national match winner. Reticle is simple crosshairs with dot (simple reticle for a simple mind.) When mounting it, I was concerned that picking up the dot while shooting would be problematic with these old eyes. Extremely fine crosshairs and dot is 0.125MOA. Also concerned I’d get enough light through the 1” vs 30mm tube. This is not a scope for PRS or NRL22 or even benchrest silhouette, but for benchrest target, it’s pretty cool. When the scope dot disappears over the target dot, bang. Light (under 1 lb.), single stage triggers mandatory IMO. Mine is breaking just shy of 8.5 oz. Sight in and first groups with Eley Team and new scope. Was going to shoot some targets but the monsoon rolled in. Next time. Can’t wait to see what she’ll do with match ammo. ____________ Pace

Yep, I mentioned yours a couple posts above. I set the headspace for Eley. Mine won't cycle Lapua. Did you notice much of a difference with the tuners? ____________ Pace

I feel like the tuners improve the groups but it is a very small improvement. We have a group that shoots some local on line targets where we are shooting at very small (1/4") bulls at 50 yards so fractions of an inch are important. JEREMIAH 33:3
