Sadly, I'm guessing the price will be WAY MORE than the "average guy" will be able to afford without causing financial and / or relationship strains.

Look at what the USGI 1911 program has turned into, price wise.

Exciting news. Really hope they are 1500 range max. 4k would hurt very badly.

I would want one for sure.

While I am glad these will be available, and I am excited for you guys who will buy one.

I personally have zero interest. Just not my thing.

lets do a comparison,

as a dealer, I pick up Garands, 1911's and some 22's from estates,
some still have the CMP paperwork, most do not,

the US 22 trainers have jumped a bit, since the late 90's/early 2000's
esp the 40x and 52's

percentage wise ,Moss 44's probably jumped most on the market

Garands, avg around 1K from CMP, (depending on grade etc)

most in this are in the private market (As in dealer sales ) are 1600+, expert/service and Winchesters and IHC will jump higher, and if it is correct for the vintage, original or restored, more, lots more

imports ( excel, blue sky etc) are 1400+/-, sometimes less

the few funky commercial ones, (not commercial SA) are less,


parts alone are crazy in price for certian features or vintages,



1911's, I have bought a couple dozen from customers, some getting out of the game, some pissed off that they did not get General whatshisnames personal all correct 100% Colt or US&S, even tho they put a post it note on the application when submitted
instead they got a nice receiver with a replacement slide,

regardless of maker or grade, they sell for $1600 +,

the last 2 I bought for my personal collection was service grades, $2500 for 2, one Ithaca , all correct, with korean era Keyes grips, and an all correct colt,
yes, i hit the lottery

three was a bit of a big deal about people scared the 1911 market would tank due to the release,

nope, a nice original 1911 still brings good money, not really a drop at all,
and all the clones at $400 +/- did not hurt either,

different price point for different clientele,



so M14's

Springfields (commercial) vary in price a bit by options on the used market,
and by vintage,

as in a relatively new vintage M1A will not bring what a similar M1A will that is pre ban (that part doesn;t matter much any longer) but they tend to be all USGI parts or damn close,


expect the CMP market to do the same ,

anything good will go to the auction, like NM or M21's

likely 3 grades, and likely a variation by maker, I expect TRW's may go auction, TRW parts always bring a premium,



and the parts market may get a big bump from people trying to correct their new rifles , just like garand folks do,



not going to comment on M1Carbines, that group has OCD levels that are probably on the spectrum,
