Within this thread... https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0601935/m/8300008315 Another member has altered what I wrote, but it's still within the quotation feature. It's still attributed to goose5, but it has been altered by another member. This isn't the first time this has happened. How can another member rewrite a quote attributed to someone else? Seriously, if any member can alter another member's post and quote it how is this sight any better than Wikipedia? _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

The quoted text is just text. It can be edited like any other text. No way to stop that. A responsible member won’t do that in an inappropriate way, but, yes, it can be done. Serious about crackers

You did the right thing, which was to speak up in the thread. I tend to frown on this "Fixed it for you" stuff.

I will often edit quoted text for brevity. I always try hard not to change the intent or meaning of their comments. As for the FIFY (Fixed It For You) thing: I occasionally do it—usually for humor purposes, but I'm sure to always add "FIFY" and some-or-another smiley. "America is at that awkward stage.
