I bought into the hype in the early 90s and still have some stashed away somewhere. Fortunate I was never put into a situation where I was forced to see if the worked. _________________________ "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last” - Winston Churchil

Pow R ball is basically a light but conventional hollow point capped with a plastic ball that ensures expansion across a variety of barriers and clothing. I'm fond of the 165gr load for .45. You are much better off with it than the glaser safety slugs or those old expoxy-buckshot mag safe loads.

When those were still for sale, I opted for Black Talons. Still have some. Freewill Firearms 07 FFL, Class 2 SOT

Heresy! Nothing but heresy! Why Glaser and MagSafe were far ahead of their time. I remember them well hanging on the pegs at the shop. Absolutely the most amazing and best performing ammo one could buy. And I remember well never selling one package in the 5 years there, and never seeing any of the other guys sell one package. But we had them so we could offer THE BEST ammo choice available should anyone be wise enough to avail themselves of it. ----- Support the entire Constitution, not just the parts you like. I still have 3 boxes of this. I always thought they were the solution to older .45's that may not reliably cycle HP ammo. I used to keep them loaded in an old 1911. As for effectiveness or being better than just standard ball, I have no idea? Watch & Pray

Clearly they were all just Neanderthals who wouldn't know top quality defensive ammo if it bit them in the ass.

Those always seemed “gimmicky” to me. _______________ If anyone has any factory P239 .357 SIG +1 mag extensions, I need (5) of them. Email in profile thx!

They were and are, nothing more. Just like all the other trick type ammo - flichettes, balls with strings, miniature nunchucks, you name it someone will shoot it. I experimented once with cut shells just for fun at plywood board targets, that was fun too. For entertainment purposes only all that stuff. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Back in the day, I remember reading the pros re Glaser and one of my magazines (Guns & Ammo, maybe?) said that a perp had been shot with a Glaser and the ER doc said it appeared to be a 410 shot at point blank range. And in the movie "Manhunter", the cop shoots the perp with a Charter Arms Bulldog 44 special loaded w/Glaser slugs. The perp goes airborne into a wall. Cause, we all know a handgun bullet moves mass across the room like that. /sarc Anyway, all I remember is that Glasers were comprised of #12 chilled shot suspended in liquid teflon. But I never bought any. I shoot reloads for plinking. I buy my SD ammo off the shelf, mostly at Walmart. Never perceived any need for Super Duper Zombie Ammo.
