Does anyone know what all 50 are? I have looked around a bit but cannot find a complete list.

I know Indiana State Police is issued Sig P227

You could probably just google it, I’m sure there is a list somewhere. I know California Highway Patrol issues the M&P 1.0 in .40.

Florida Highway Patrol just transitioned to the Glock 45 in 9mm.

I’m pretty sure Georgia issues the G45 as well.

Arkansas State Police switched over to the Glock 17 Gen 5 a couple years ago. Prior to that, it was the Glock 21 for quite a while.

Alabama State Trooper have gone to the Glock 45 also.

Pennsylvania State Police issues the Sig 227.

I believe TN State Troopers are also transitioning to the Glock 45.

Connecticut troopers carry the p220 in .45ACP with three extra mags on the belt.

Michigan State Police is Gen5 G17

MA Staties carry the S&W M&P 45 caliber pistol.

Wyoming SP issues the Glock 35.

Minnesota State Patrol issues the Glock 17 Gen 5 with AMERIGLO BOLD Night Sights on them what is interesting none of the Troopers I’ve seen they don’t have weapon lights on them. Also Wisconsin issues the Glock 17 Gen 5 too so both my State and neighboring state Rocks Glock 9MM.

Last Ohio trooper I saw had the SIG P320. Not sure of caliber.

I'll ask one of our new hires when I get back to work tomorrow. She was a trooper the past 3 years.

A lot appears to have changed in 5 years.

Iowa State Patrol is currently Glock 22 Gen 4.

North Carolina recently went to the SIG P320 in .357 SIG.

I completely understand budget constraints, legacy ancillary equipment (holsters, mags etc. etc. ) and administration bias etc. but that said I have always been amazed at the variety of firearms, calibers and action types across local agencies. Not because I am a X caliber or Y platform fan boy but more so because I am surprised they don’t all simply just piggy back on to whatever big Federal Agency had the budget to do the most R&D (FBI etc.) and just by in large vastly all buy a Glock 17/19.

Now I know their are outlier needs, maybe you are in an area that deals with large animals for example or have a specific maritime or tac team need but like I said beyond those outliers I am kinda surprised they don’t all go with damn near the same thing.

Now that is no dig against the M&P, 320, SIG etc. etc. etc. just more of an observation at the selection process.
