Somewhat inspired by the current "which gun fits your hand" thread, but going further. I grew up shooting revolvers, and through most of my adult life I have shot and carried classic P-series Sigs, in DA/SA. I particularly like my P239s in .40.

For a long time I had little experience with striker fired guns/ Glocks. Several years ago I was about to take a force-on-force class, using Glocks with simunitions, so I spent several hours on the range with a Glock, mostly getting used to the grip angle, and I suppose the trigger as well. I was drawing and pointing well by the end, and felt comfortable with the Glock.

A guy at the range was shooting a HK P7, and asked if I would like to shoot it. So I did, and shot it better than I had been shooting the Glock. It just seemed so easy to shoot well! On the flip side, I've shot some modern Walthers that felt okay, but I just couldn't shoot well.

We were shooting with some cousins once, and my younger son shot my cousin's 1911, and remarked that it was like cheating, it was so easy to shoot well.

I have an obligatory 1911, but haven't shot it much at all. I do have a Browning Hi Power (besides the new one), and I find it easy to shoot well. And I have a Wilson Beretta 92 that almost seems like cheating. I haven't shot HKs other than the P7.

I'm wondering if any of y'all have guns that make you feel like it's cheating? Maybe a brand, or maybe a particular model.

For me it was the M109A1 155mm SP Howitzer.
That's a gun now , put about 90+ lbs. of Comp B in your roof if done right !
For a handgun however , it's a tie between my Berretta 92 or Mk25.

For over 25 ears, my 225.

I love the feel of a 1911, with a good trigger and shoot them the best. A close second in my Glock Gen 5 34 with a red dot on it. It's like cheating!

I shoot the 1911 the best, but also shoot the P226/8 surprisingly very well. I’m getting very proficient with the P320 platform and shoot the X5 Legion about as good as a 1911.

The weird thing is I’m learning to shoot Glock pistols well and spend a lot of time running them. Every time I think man I shoot this G34/G17/G19 as good as anything I own, I grab my P226 and I’m better than ever with it. I keep coming back to where my whole handgun journey started nearly 30 years ago.

Speed and accuracy; 1911 nearly always comes out on top. Followed by the P220

I’m getting better with the GLOCKs. I usually shoot the large frames better (G20/21/41)

A well worked over Beretta 92 (LTT in my case) or any CZ75 variant with a good trigger job. I’m a DA/SA guy but I need a good trigger.

No contest: My Remington 1911 R1 Enhanced in .45 ACP. I'm deadly with that bad boy

After that: Any of my other 1911s.

A full-size, steel-frame 1911 for me. In a developing second-place position are revolvers a’la a S&W K-22 and, of all things, an N-frame 625 Mountain Gun in .45 ACP. I’ve been working those two out side-by-side at the range lately and have been pleased with the results.

It has a natural point-ability, the grip wasn't girthy and it felt balanced in my hands.

HK P7 series without a doubt.

I think it might just be my S&W 696 in 44 Special. It just feels right in my hand.

P239, almost as though there is a magnet drawing the barrel to the center of the target.

However my P320 fullsize with Delta Point Pro red dot is very easy and accurate.

CZ SP01 Shadow.

I shoot my P7 and 1911 very well, but only slow fire. I’m better rapid fire with the P320.

Any of my Wilson Berettas

So hard to say.

While far from the most mechanically accurate pistols I own, the Pardini GT9 is so slick and easy to shoot well due to its low bore axis and incredible trigger.







Runner up would be a Smith & Wesson 952
