Been seeing used for $1500~. I see it as a top of the line pistol for not much more than modern run of this kill firearms. I think I should pick one up, even if I sell a P220-10 to fund it. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

Well you will like it. If it’s for comp or a range toy it’s hard to beat. It will run with much more expensive custom guns without giving anything away. I’m the wrong guy to ask because there isn’t much in the CZ lineup I haven’t owned, shot, or loved. So bias, lol. I’m in the camp of find a good price and pick one up. If I was being critical the only reason I have stayed away is because I have a ton of 75 mags and don’t want to bring another mag into the fold. TS and TSO mags are different. One reason if the DWX ever actually exists I would buy one. Mags are old school, 75 Compact and P10/9 mags. I hate separate mags if I can help it. For this gun it might be worth it though. Honestly I topped out at Shadow 2, brand new just under $1100. That’s a pretty good sweet spot of price, ability, and still DA/SA which is my preference. You really can’t go wrong though.

The TSO is a pretty amazing pistol to shoot. Very accurate and has an excellent light trigger pull. Shadow 2 is very nice also, but the TSO feels better in my hands and I enjoy shooting it more. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you buy a TSO. Good luck.

There’s now a TS Green out . Some small changes from the orange. I also think it uses the Shadow 2 frame .

Not gonna do it, because I went with the TS2 (Blue). Looks better to me and is cheaper. The TS profile that looks similar (but not the same frame) to the Shadow 2 is more appealing to me. And the Blue TS2 can be had for $1400 NIB. I don't race, so really there is no need for the bulky gas pedal. And, the trigger is similarly insanely light (mine measures at 1 lb 11 oz), so you don't lose anything when it comes to the gut of the gun. And, pedropcola is right about the mag. The TS, TS2, TSO and Czechmate all use their own and different mag than the rest of the CZ full size line-up. Q

it really depends on what you want to do with the gun. The 'family' of these are very different in minor ways, but those might mean something to you. Want to shoot carry optics you need DA/SA. Want an optic you need the optic ready or use the gas pedal frame holes for a mount on the TSO (which is how I run mine). For what I use mine for (competing in classes that its legal) it works well for me and it modestly priced in the scheme of things. Great trigger, frame geometry, decent aftermarket for the needed parts like race holsters, etc. Downside is the mag prices, but on a positive note you can easily get them which is sometimes not the case for other options, and they run reliably. In the end you won't go wrong on any of these CZ's. Pick your favorite color and enjoy. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Do it! I shoot a TSO in USPSA Limited, in .40. Runs amazing and shoots great. Small parts can be tough to come by, mags have been readily available from Greg Cote. Holsters are easy to get from LS Holster for full Kydex or DAA for full race. Apex Tactical make a hammer and sear kit for the Shadow 2 that swaps in that makes for a little heavier pull but easier to prep to for me. LOK makes great grips if you want to swap those. I have the CZ TSO and an Optics Ready Shadow 2. The TSO is my favorite gun in my safe! Shoot one and you will fall in love with it. Good Luck! _________________________ Einstein defines insanity as "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

Otto, here is a comparison. I’ve owned and shot several SIG X-5’s. My humble CZ Shadow2 (box stock) shoots better than those X guns. I’ll bet the TSO or the TS2 shoot even better. Plus the CZ has better ergonomics for my hand. The P220 X-6 still reigns supreme in terms of accuracy, but they are rare as hen’s teeth, super expensive, and have no aftermarket support. You will not regret investing in a TSO or TS2! _________________________ 2nd Amendment Defender The Second Amendment is not about hunting or sport shooting.

The only thing not to recommend is the magazine issue, but if you don’t already have a CZ, that’s a minor issue at best.

As someone else noted, it depends on the specific use you have in mind for the gun, and whether it requires a SA or a DA/SA gun. I bought a TSO to shoot steel matches. Out of the box, the trigger on mine is 1.5 lbs! It is an outstanding pistol in every way.

I collect CZs and Sigs, as well as others. I have a first gen P226 X-Five from the Mastershop as well as several CZs. My X-Five shoots just as well, if not better than that CZ and I LOVE CZs! Given that the Mastershop is closed and that the remaining guns are overpriced, IMO, I would probably go with the CZ TSO. I would say however, from what I've seen, they don't hold their value as much as the Mastershop guns, which makes sense. If I picked up the CZ, I might just pop for a CZ custom shop gun, they are worth the wait. Either way, I would TRY to wear that thing out!, enjoy it and plan on keeping it. If you are like me, at some level the money becomes secondary to the joy of ownership. I'm in my 50s now and I believe that I will never "retire" so what the heck, enjoy. -Max ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Mags that work for a TSO .40 are $48 for a 17rd version and for the 20rd 9mm they are $49. You don’t need the orange base pad version that goes for close to $80. Not the $25 MecGar mags for the Shadow 2 but not horrible. A big stick 27rd 9mm magazine is $125. The TSO, in the appropriate caliber, will accept mags listed for the TS or Czechmate. If you want extended mags, then base pads are $40 and a Grams Spring kit with follower is $20, and then you can get plus 3rd of .40 or plus 6rds of 9mm in the above listed magazines. CZ has a huge parts interchangeability between the models. Do not send me to a heaven where there are no dogs. Step Up or Stand Aside: Support the Troops ! I have a wide variety of racing CZ's. By far my most favorite - and my wife's - is the Racing Green. It is literally impossible to not shoot bullseyes with it. It's freaky good. I have the DA/SA Orange and it is nice, but doesn't excite me as much as the Green. The surprise of the bunch is the SP01 Competition. We were surprised how much we enjoy shooting that one as well. Had the Optics Ready version as well but sold it IMO just spend the extra couple of hundred dollars and get the Green or Orange. It just didn't feel as special to me as the Green. ------------------------------------------------------------ Proud to be in Texas!

I'm not a cz aficionado, but I do have a few that I shoot competitively. I don't think there is such a thing as a DA/SA TSO? “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

But the S2O is not the TSO, just because they are both orange. He is asking specifically about the TSO in DA/SA, which doesn't exist. Q
