I’m wondering how many PDs or agencies will allow their personnel to carry light SA triggers in the field. The term “lawyer trigger” came about for a reason. While agree 1911 triggers can be great with some work, large departments and agencies are very risk averse. What happens if someone has an AD and on inspection the weapon is found to have a 1.5 lb trigger? Probably nothing good.

According to Staccato they have multiple agencies that authorize them for Individual Officer Purchase. From Staccato's point of view it would be up to the agency to make that officer get more training or not.

About 1,700 agencies authorize Staccato pistols (and report that to Staccato, so there are probably more). That list includes places like the Los Angeles Police Department and other Southern California agencies that people might traditionally think of as very liability conscious. I think it's fairly common to see minimum trigger pull weights. 4 pounds is pretty common.

A trigger doesn't have to be unusually light to be a good trigger that breaks cleanly.

My 1911s are all ±4 lbs. and all break cleanly. A couple of them needed a bit of smithing to get 'em where I wanted 'em. A couple were fine right out of the box.

My Staccato R comes in at ±3.5 lbs., IIRC.

A couple of new videos worth checking out. TheHumbleMarksman is working on a follow up video on the HD vs Platypus vs Fusion XD Pro, but right now it's vs the other Staccatos.
