To be less diplomatic, between my friend and I, we've owned a fair few Berettas from different vintages. The past problems with Gallatin made guns have been well documented, and some Italian guns as well. But the most recent examples I have seen (including both Bruniton and Inox brigadiers) have been very nice pistols. I also like what I have seen (and the examples I have shot) from the GTS line. I've personally had really good luck, including a 96A1 of my own with no issues. My friend is still hopeful that he can get a replacement that is on par with his other 96.
I shared my friend's experience to give the forum a heads up and a reminder. There have been times that I have also been in a hurry and haven't inspected pistols as closely as I should have, but lucked out. I will post in the thread about the outcome when we find that out from Beretta CS.
