| Geez, tough task....for carry and defense 90% sure it'd be a P365 with a cpl of extra mags....mine's been the most reliable pistol I've ever owned...50+ years of carry in peace and war... For the other, I'll go with Sig's 1911 RCS with an extra upper in .22 LR. The .45 original is the best .45 I've owned; accurate, reliable, as tight as a tick and with the .22 upper, you've got Fun and some cheap practice with a solid CC choice. Given one more...honest just one...I'll hold on with a Smith 5" model 629...big bullets, heroic recoil and plenty of smack on the receiving end...it'll do for hunting east of the Mississippi. YMMv, Rod
5th Spl Forces, Air Force Bird Dog FAC, lll Corps RVN 69-70.... We enjoy the Bill of Rights by the sacrifices of our veterans; Politicians, Preachers, Educators, Journalists and Community Organizers are beneficiaries, not defenders of our freedoms.

| 1. P226 9mm (easy) 2. G19 (hard) The G19 went up against the USP 9mm, P228, and GP100. It was mainly a question of practicality for me. One of the two may as well be a compact, so the G19 beats the USP because of its size and the P228 because of its weight. But it was close because the USP and P228 are among my all-time favorites (and the P228 even uses P226 mags as a bonus). The GP100 obviously loses in size and weight, but also in caliber (all the others are conveniently in 9mm and I don't really need the GP100's power). However, the impractical side of me was wanting one to be a pistol and one to be a revolver, so the GP100 was also up for consideration.

| As much as I like 1911's, a Glock 19 and a 4" S & W model 66.
Left the blazing dumpster fire of of taxes, corruption and tyranny that is Illinois, for freedom in Florida.

Same for me. P320C works for CC and for home defense. Mostly I carry the 365, but the 320C is a do-everything well.

| They must both be at least somewhat concealable. One of them must be *very* concealable.
One must be a 22, the other must be powerful enough for wilderness carry / large animals.
Extra points for zero plastic. Extra points for a classic design. Extra points for SA trigger. Extra points for high capacity mags.
I can't satisfy every wish, but the best match I get so far is this:
Beretta 71 in 22LR + a commander-size 1911 in 10mm with bobbed grip.
I don't have the 10mm yet, but hopefully will soon. |
