I have always found that my eyes are much better adjusted to an iron sight which has a red front sight and either a green or black rear sight versus the factory's white dots. Up until recently I have mainly purchased Beretta and H&K pistols. My Beretta and H&K pistols have been fairly easy to find the red front and green/black rear sights for them. However, recently I purchased a Sig P238 which Sig only offers it with either the white or green front sight. I have done quite a bit of searching through the forums and also the websites which lists sights for Sig pistols, and so far not having much luck. I found people asking about red sights but hardly any replies to their posts. Concerning the website listings for Sig sights, it can be a bit problematic due to the sites not providing specific information whereby could be them not saying what model of Sig the sight was made to fit or them saying its for the P series of Sig but then I find out .... no, its not that simple since some of them weren't made to work on all P series and certainly not the P238 I have also tried calling Sig whereby they were very friendly but certainly not wanting to help figuring out the proper red front sight and matching rear sight for the P238, and they said to try the forums which I had already mentioned to them that I tried that but wasn't having much luck I also tried calling Optics Planet and was told I would be handed over to their expert division who could answer my question. Well, it didn't take long to find out their optics expert division wasn't very expert in optic sights since it only resulted in them telling me to search through the forums. And yes, I am aware of the following manufactures/websites which produce and/or sell iron sights: 1) LPA 2) HiViz 3) TruGlo 4) Trigicon 5) AmeriGlo 6) Night Fision 7) Dawson Precision 8) Optics Planet 9) Wilson Combat 10) Williams Gun Sight 11) Midwest Gunworks MY HOPES ARE TO FIND SOMEONE WHO HAS PERSONALLY PURCHASED AND USED RED SIGHTS ON THEIR SIG P238 MY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS ARE: 1) What manufacture and model of red sights will directly fit the P238 ....and please provide a link 2) What sight numbers should I be using .... my Sig P238 sights (both front and rear) in the pics below are stamped with the number 6 NOTE: With all due respect to everyone, I'm not here to debate, argue, or discuss why you or anyone else thinks a particular sight color is better than another sight color, and I'm also not here to debate, argue, or discuss my reasoning for wanting to use red iron sights.... those things will not legitimately help for locating red sights for a P238.This message has been edited. I'm sorry. I tried uploading pictures here but it looks like this site will only let people upload pictures that have been uploaded somewhere at a url address Well, no thanks... not going through all of that ... finding some pic hosting site, creating an account, going through confirmations and settings, uploading pictures to it, and then having to copy each url of the picture I want and input in this site

Have you thought of painting your own? Here are links to sight paint:- https://www.ebay.com/itm/27458...13ec926dcbdfbd089b09 https://www.amazon.com/s?k=fro...f=pd_sl_18r50yh35k_e Painting will cut out the worry about getting the right sight size.

Hey Steve, thank for the heads up! Will pass Ebay's listing that only had white, green, and orange sight paints but I was definitely interested in the Amazon link you sent that had a nice variety which included red sight paint Years ago I had used orange paint (that's all they had back then) for the brass beads on my shotgun, and so while I'm searching for red iron sights I'm also going to do some research on how that red paint turns out after it dries ... should be plenty of youtube videos showing some differences from one manufacture to another

Years ago, S&W revolvers had red inserts in the front sights that were very popular. Someone (I cant recall who) made a DIY kit to make your own insert. But finding such a kit now would be difficult, I would guess. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

These are a couple of ways I have modified SIG pistol sights to make them more visible. The left is simply putting red paint over the sighting dot. The right used a sort of automotive detailing tape cut to fit the sight blade. ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz

Is everyone else having to upload their pictures to an image-hosting site and then typing the url of the picture into the message here in order to have pictures show up? I just need a yes or no on that since I already know the reasoning for some websites using that process as a way to prevent their system from being infected with a virus, malware, whatever

Yes. Discussed at length here: https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...935/m/6470098434/p/1 I use ImageShack. Many people who want to post only a limited number of photos and would rather spend their money on other things obsess over finding free hosting sites. But also has been discussed countless times here, such sites tend to be unreliable for various reasons and are often worth only what one pays for their service. Also note that just entering the URL of the picture here will not link to it. It’s necessary to put it into this format: (No spaces before or after the URL itself.) If you click the “Reply” box for the thread, there is a tiny thumbnail with a sort-of landscape picture at the upper right. Clicking on that and entering the picture URL there will populate the response with the “IMG” prefix and suffix. ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz

I just had Novak's install what you're looking for on my Colt Mustang. Night front sight (green tritium dot with a hidef orange/red outer ring) and a blacked out rear. I am thrilled with the results, it was a huge upgrade. My slide needed milled, but the sights themselves were less than $100. They don't list them for the P238 but maybe contact them and see if they are compatible? Novak Colt Mustang front sight

#6 front sights are widely available, including red fiber optic options. #6 rear sights are very uncommon, as most sight manufacturers no longer seem to offer them, or only offer 1 or 2 of the most popular styles. Likely due to the fact that only produced a few models that ever used a #6 rear, and even most of those models are currently discontinued. So one option would be to source a new #6 red fiber optic front sight from someone like TruGlo or Trijicon, and then keep your existing #6 rear and black it out using a paint pen or sharpie. That would allow you to have a red #6 front and a black #6 rear. This message has been edited. Last edited by: RogueJSK,
