So, just updated sights? My wife and daughter picked the Bodyguard for carry, they love them

Easy change, keeps them on the hype train and makes folks look at the brand on the tubes and the grames etc. Less about the gun more about the marketing IMO. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

Been out a while. Cylinder turns the wrong way, awkward top cylinder latch, but it has a LASER.

I have zero personal experience with the polymer Bodyguard revolvers. They may very well be wonderful guns. But this is exactly what comes to mind every time I see one. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

So not only are all S&W guns now named the M&P, we have multiple Bodyguard 2.0s also. That's a great idea --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

I have had the misfortune to shoot the first version. It feels nothing like a Smith & Wesson to me. The trigger was awful, it was not accurate, and it feels cheap as hell. As Para puts it... Ick.

Ick was my first thought as well, but can't claim it since Para beat me to it. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

Yep. And they're chambered in .38 Special and .380...two calibers that casual gun owners are already prone to confuse. They've also got the Shield, Shield+, ShieldX, etc...its like they're intentionally trying to make it confusing. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

I guess I see what they were going for, addressing some of the main complaints of the J frame like the heavy trigger pull and nub sights, plus removing the lock and adding in an ambi cylinder release. But in a world where micro compact 9mms exist that are the same size or smaller, with even better sights, an even better trigger, better capacity, easier reloads, and a more potent round, I still think it'll be a hard sell. So now they have new buyers who won't want it when they can have a micro 9, and as evidenced by the sentiment here, old J frame fans who won't buy it because it's not what they know. Alienating both new and old buyers is not exactly a recipe for sales success. Perhaps it's time to simply let the J frame fade into history, rather than straining to try to keep it relevant in modern times.

I’ll agree with the, “Ick”. Kinda looks like the product of a hot sweaty night with a bottle of Boone’s Farm and a Ruger LCR and a Keltec. It just looks cheap. I’ve been intrigued every now and then by the Ruger LCR but this new one from Smith looks like it’s cobbled together, it just doesn’t look like an integrated design. I do think that revolvers can be modernized, but this ain’t it. I like the idea behind the UC series by Smith of adding better sights and a better trigger. I have nothing against a polymer grip frame, but this just looks cheap and added on. I also like what Lipsey’s has done with bringing back the Night Guard series. Lightweight material in a revolver that’s more shootable than a j-frame. I’ve got my name in with my LGS for a 386 and I’m really hoping they bring back the 310 Night Gaurd. Had a Ruger LCR I pocket carried for a while, just didn't care for the way you had to reset the trigger, there is no short reset you had to be sure you let the trigger back out all the way.

You shut your dirty whore mouth!!! In all seriousness I haven’t carried a J in a while but there are rare occasions where it just works. It looks like Wallet in a pocket and still has a place now and then for me. Not that plastic abomination above of course. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

For such a fine and revolutionary new gun, they forgot to label the most important part, the"snoot", where the boolit comes out. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster
