Q: What is your house gun?

A: If a “static” gun, well, Benelli M2. Otherwise, my carry guns can do double duty.

Q: How many do you keep around the house?

A: Well, I would rather be evasive about the number, and, do not keep them “around the house,” anyway. We do have a large, heavy, fire-resistant safe, and at least one smaller lock box.

Q: What supporting equipment?

A: My favored Surefire hand-held lights are basic, vital accessories. Surefire X200 and X300-series lights can be clipped onto accessory rails. I have a belt with an attached JM Custom Kydex holster, that can be quickly donned.

870 18in at the front door, Winchester 94 at the back door, little surprises scattered here and there, and I always carry one and sometimes two if the situation/locale merits a bit more. Old age, treachery, and black magic will overcome youthful criminal exuberance every time.

My "bedroom housegun" is a Sig P320 AXG, Romeo 1 Pro red dot, Streamlight TLR-1HL light, 21rd mag loaded with Federal 124gr HST HPs.



I do have an upstairs gun locker in my office (next to master bedroom) with plenty of spare mags for the Sig, AR-15 in SBR format (7.5" barrel), and a Mossberg 500 shorty (AOW).

When I'm downstairs I almost always have a carry gun on me or very close by (Like I removed it and set in on the dining room table still in its holster cause I'm busy down on the floor playing with the dog).

FN545....hard to beat for home defense.

Night stand gun is either my P220 Combat with TLR8 or my P226 Mk25 with TLR8. 870 and AR's are in the bedside safe, and usually have my Shield 45 on or near me.

P229 in .357 SIG

German P220 w/ 230gr Gold Dot. German SP2022 with night sights and Streamlight TLR-3, another stock U.S. both w/ 124gr +P Gold Dot. S&W Model 13 3" w/ .38 Special Gold Dot +P. AR.
