I'd be happy if Bruce just told SIG and Cohen to stop settling for and making product that end up embarrassing everyone involved.

I want them to deliver on their promises. Plain and simple.

How many models have we seen that are "coming soon"? How many missed launch dates have come and gone?

Y'all heard me complain that there is no innovation in the gun industry. The P22x is an ancient design that has been updated little since its inception in what, 1975? And the fact the model from the late 70s will shoot better than one purchased today is more telling.

But honestly though, why would Sig care at this point? Pending contract issues, they'll be turning out P320s for the next decade or more. They're probably the cheapest gun for Sig to make, likely their best selling, and by far the easiest to service and repair. From a money-making perspective, it's a brilliant design.

And when they're not selling P320s to the polymer-of-the-month club, they're turning out royalty-free, mediocre 1911s in every color of the rainbow to anyone who wants a checkered frontstrap. And to that I say, good for them. It's nice that they have found a niche market. This forum isn't Sig's target audience. Sure, they'll throw the enthusiast a bone every now and then with a 10mm or an X5 variant. Maybe even a P210 in the future. But this isn't their priority. The focus now is filling the holsters previously occupied by the M9.

As for what I want? How about an online gun builder? All the finishes, all the special editions, it's all silliness. Benchmade has a wonderful online knife builder, certainly every car manufacturer has one, so why not have one with a Sig? Just work out the kinks with Lipsey's and TALO and you're off to the races at full MSRP. Let me build what I want, pay for it online, and have a list of approved dealers where I can pick it up in 3 or 4 weeks.

I would like a "SIG G23."

I was in the market for a polymer carry gun, and my SIG options were limited. I DID BUY A GLOCK Big Grin and I love my G23, but the underside of the trigger guard tends to dig into my fingers. This is why I moved away from the Springfield XD (my original #1 choice) - that one was downright painful to hold (and that was without ever having firing it).

The whole "SIG Modular Polymer" pistol thing is a big turn-off to me. I don't like the looks of the modular insert - it looks way too frail to me. Gun makers used to brag about "full length slide rails," (which my P226 has and I like) but with the modulars, I see these 4 dinkly little nubs for the slide to fit on. Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I don't like that concept. I have no need for a 'modular pistol system,' so the modularity adds a lot of complexity and potential structural weakness with no benefit to me at all.

Well you'll be disappointed with many of the new polymer pistols. While not modular it's nothing more than a couple roll pins in a polymer shell with some metal rails.

A traditional DA/SA that has modular grip frames like the P250/P320.

For that matter, why does it have to be any thicker than a Browning HighPower?

Yeah, I'd go for that.

Or, even better, the BDM? Wink

How about new management, top to bottom. That would do more for Sig than any single product.

Bring back the short extractors for the P22x series and make them internal on the 1911.

I still own and LOVE my legacy SIGs and even have a VERY early 556 that I like very much but I just don't view SIG as a professional grade product anymore. (Rightly or wrongly earned) that is my perception. I see made in China trinkets for lights/scopes etc. I see numerous quality issues. I see cheesy special editions. I realize all manufacturers are governed by the bottom line and all gunmakers have had their issues but SIG to me used to embody the professionals, professional pistol. The pistol you grabbed when you were thrown out of the airplane so to speak. Today I don't see that at all.

Now I am not saying they make nothing but crap, nor am I saying "I know better!!" I am just giving you my perception and what I would to see them focus on.

I still haven't made it past this messed up statement. ^^^ Whats wrong with the P210's, X-5's, x-6's, P226 and P220's from West Germany? They are amazing firearms all. I've got a crapload of Sigs, don't own a P320 and might not ever, but I love them all. I might be in line for an American P210, but I'd do a wait and see first.

Agreed. Especially if they made the slide lever a little harder to reach.

I love my H&K P2000 -- fits perfectly in the hand, good size for IWB/OWB/manpurse carry, but if SIG made a Pro of similar size I'd be all over it.

How about a 9mm all-Stainless P225, based on the original German design - not the A1 or "Classic" (nice piece of marketing there BTW - try to confuse your customers intentionally). Widen the grip a bit and deliver a 357 Sig version while you're at it.

They need absolute corporate truthfulness and transparency. Anything less, its probably game over for Sig for alot of people.

Several here are waiting for the above to happen. I thought Sig even said it was coming... a couple years ago? Confused

Yes, that's my personal grail gun that doesn't exist. Just a plain-Jane P225/P6, except with a frame made from steel rather than aluminum. That's it; the alpha and omega of what I want from Sig. So simple, and yet so unobtainable.....
