What do we want Bruce to tell Sig that we want... Login/Join

So a couple days ago, Bruce posted the following in the 320 drop safety thread:

"My goal is to help SIG do better while offering people products they really want."

It got me thinking, what do i want from Sig. I dumped my Sigs years ago and haven't bought a new one in probably 8 to 10 years I'd guess.

Like LT Cheng in that thread, I have been disillusioned with what Sig had become.

So Bruce's comment got me thinking, what would it take for Sig to earn me back as a customer?

So, whether you're a current Sig customer or not, what would you like Bruce to tell Sig we want. Obviously I don't expect Bruce to take the subsequent posts into Sig's board room, I'm just curious what we want to see from Sig.

For me, I'd love to see a Sig with a lower bore axis than the 320, stirker fired, grip similar to a H&K P30 feel and a slide the width of a BHP or CZ 75.

The only thing I feel it improved upon the Glock was the grip feel. For me, the modularity is meaningless, sacrificing thinness for it was a huge negative. For some reason, it has really been bugging me lately that there aren't more double stack 9's with slides like the BHP and the CZ 75.

Heck, if Sig made a Sig branded BHP with a 1911 style thumb safety and a better slide stop, that would be perfect...doesn't have to be striker fired.

what do you want to see sig make?

Heck, Nothing new or special. How about importing custom orders from Germany. At the going rate, they shouldn't run an expense.

A return to the commitment of "To Hell And Back Reliability". It just seems like every new release is plagued with issues and feels like a "consumer grade" cost cut product.

I still own and LOVE my legacy SIGs and even have a VERY early 556 that I like very much but I just don't view SIG as a professional grade product anymore. (Rightly or wrongly earned) that is my perception. I see made in China trinkets for lights/scopes etc. I see numerous quality issues. I see cheesy special editions. I realize all manufacturers are governed by the bottom line and all gunmakers have had their issues but SIG to me used to embody the professionals, professional pistol. The pistol you grabbed when you were thrown out of the airplane so to speak. Today I don't see that at all.

Now I am not saying they make nothing but crap, nor am I saying "I know better!!" I am just giving you my perception and what I would to see them focus on.

The world is moving away from what I like.

I like full size, heavy, metal guns with a hammer in DA/SA with a nice large beavertail and no manual safety.

Pretty much my perfect gun is the P226 Stainless Steel Elite with the old tail.

How about a SAO P229? Doesn't necessarily have to be a legion either.

Or a P229 RX?

Or an aluminum grip module for the P320 (I can hear the moans and groans now) that accepts grip panels from a P226, or P229?

RHINO, you need a drink man.

Lol, honestly if the sky was the limit

A black Ilaflon P220 Stainless without the rail, in 45 with a quality 22LR conversion kit and metal magazines, sold as a set, ala the P210 back in the day. SAO or DA/SA, I guess I could even take a rail.

But as others have mentioned, that ship has long since sailed. Wink

Not remotely. While I may project emotion here, there really isn't much on the topic. Wink

I'm glad I sold my remaining 320 a month ago, I'm free as a bird!!!!

I'd be tempted by that. Although, when they brought out the Legions, I think they were asked about a SAO P229 and the answer was negative/don't hold your breath.

I've posted this before but here it goes. I hate striker fired pistols. I would really like a Sig version of a P30. I would even settle for an updated, slimmer 2022 with a sub compact counter part. As posted above, would also be very interested in a SA 229.

I don't see Sig ever doing this though.

I also want them to clean up their act a little bit. As an example, I like the idea behind the Legion line but there are little issues that bother me. The poor finish quality is one. Sig won't acknowledge that it's a defect and won't fix it. It's not a big deal but it's a microcosm of what Sig is now. Premium priced products with less than premium priced QC and customer support.

I'm another who would like thinner slides. A modern double stack magazine pistol shouldn't be any wider than a G19.
