The 48 frame with the 43 slide looks good and one can only wonder how long it will be before Glock offers that as a configuration.

Do the 48 mags work in the 43 frame? Care to post a pic if so?

I have to admit that the G48 isn't as superfluous as I initially thought it would be. A coworker got one from one of our competitors (I haven't pestered any of our suppliers for them, which I probably should...at some point) and it does feel pretty good in hand. No it's not a pocket carry like the 365 but it's nicely slender and has plenty of grip height to get positive purchase on. I however DON'T like the two-tone (call me pig headed old school), though I'm pretty sure the fashion conscious Glockinistas that we have in our customer base will adore the things in both G43X and G48 form.

Guess I'll be calling distributors come Monday...

+P merely indicates an upper pressure level limit per SAAMI specs, not what the pressure must be or necessarily is. I’ve tested 9mm ammunition labeled +P that did not produce velocities as high as some standard pressure stuff. The NATO label is also somewhat ambiguous. Likewise based on velocities, Winchester Q4318 124 grain FMJ “NATO” is hotter than the standard pressure loads I’ve tested, but not as hot, for example, as Speer 124 grain +P Gold Dot.

Absolutely.
I really shouldn't call my FMJ handloads 'NATO' but it's just a lazy shortcut.
The rounds I use for practice are based on a recipe used to replicate 124gr+P GD which is my go-to carry round. The load specs were given to me by a well-known boutique ammo maker. I no longer make plinking ammo, other than subsonic stuff for suppressed shooting.

They already do, it’s called the 43X.

I’m curious if Glock would do a 42x. Light recoiling, 10 rounds and a full grip for those that like to carry a 380.

How did you get the 43 slide on the 48 frame?
We’re trying and it is not happening.

The slide does not quite seem to be wide enough. One can get the slide on the front rails with no issue but once the rear of the slide gets to the upright on the tigger bar (I think that is the proper term) one has to push in towards the center of the frame for the upright to slide in the notch of the slide plate and slide. It then bonds up.

Potentially stupid question, but is your recoil spring assembly fully seated on the barrel? I’ve made this simple mistake in the past.

I believe so.
I was at the gun store with two of their new ones. I’ll try to swing back by tomorrow.

Seems like both the Glock 43X & Glock 48 are solutions to problems no one has.

The 19X as well. What's the point of a bigger grip on a shorter slide? The longer grip doesn't help with concealability and the shorter slide doesn't help with accuracy. Adding 2 rounds to 15 is like "meh" at best.

Now the Polymer 80 I just bought, 19 grip with 17 slide, that I see a point to (which is why I grabbed it of course).

I would like to pick up a 43 eventually. Unfortunately it is not a choice for me to carry (yet at least).

The grip alone is so much better in the hand than the 43. It is not substantially bigger but very noticeable and more comfortable for me.
The 43 even with the pinky extension just seems so small.

Now that I've had a chance to shoot and mess around with my G48, and do the slide swap from my 43 to the 48 frame I realize why I didn't carry or shoot the 43 or my 26. I really do not like how the hump hits my palm, now going to the 48 or a 19 or 17 these fit my hand so much better. I enjoy shooting 'em more and with the thinner grip of the 48 I can conceal it a bit easier than the 19. For me it was solution and I'm glad Glock came along with them.

You may not understand the G43X/G48/G19X but they are selling well and the G19X is selling great.

The G19X is setting sales records and the G43X and G48 should do quite well even if you do not understand it Zeus007.
