As far as running the guns and actually using them, P226 & P228 hands down.

As far as just hitting stuff on the range, the P7M8, a couple 1911s, and surprisingly, my late FIL’s Ruger Security Six snubby have been very accurate. Perhaps with enough training & practice time I could learn to run the 1911s as well as the P22x pistols. Perhaps if I had the stack of P7M8s required to run them in high round count classes without melting one’s hands (although that feature was really nice at one cold, wet OpSpec class in Piru). I’m not sure I could get to the point of running that little Ruger like I run the P22x series though. Wink

I have no idea why but Glock and M&P's seem to be what agrees with me the most. I also shoot the CZ P07/P09 series very well.
Its funny because I don't particularly like those platforms very much and would much rather carry a sexy 1911 variant or a classic Sig. I just shoot the plastic stuff better.

Sig Sauer P226 X-5/6. Something about these pistols make me shoot my best.

Over the years its been various Smith revolvers like my 686 or 617. Target 22s Ruger MKII or Smith 41.

For centerfire semi auto pistols my recently acquired P226 Elite along with a Romeo equipped optics slide has really shot quite well , on par with my 1911 which I had considered to to be my most accurate semi auto centerfire. It is the 6th Sig I have owned and its a keeper!

I shoot my P229’s the best of any. Quite good with 1911’s, with Flocks being third. I suck at shooting revolvers though..

Of what I have....Cajunized CZ P-01, K frame S&W, Sig P210.
what I don't have..an OD Green HK USP9 I could shoot the sights off of those guns at 50 yards. An amazing pistol I traded away for a new shiny.

BUT I must admit the P210 is getting there. A couple of hundred rounds in now without a hiccup. Gets better every time out.

P226 X5 was excellent, but my P320 Full with green dot sight is even easier. Almost too easy, just concentrate of the trigger pull, the dot takes care of the rest.

For instinctive shooting, the P239 has always been the best for me. I think it is the flat grip. It is like a magnet pulling the barrel to the center of the target. Weak hand, strong hand, whatever, the P239 does well.

Over time, Colt 1911s. Until about 5-6 years ago, I picked up a SIG P220 Stainless Elite Nitron SAO 10mm. It is similar to a 1911 in how it works, and is the most accurate pistol I have ever shot.

Just plain standing and shooting a static targets, I give the accuracy star to my now gone P226. Big and heavy enough so recoil is almost none existent, and fairly long sight radius makes 2" groups at 25 doable. Faster shooting steel, I'll take my G19.
