Glock mags are metal wrapped in plastic. Makes them chunky but they are DAMN GOOD MAGS.

I also prefer a simple steel mag but Glock mags are some of the best by far.

Glock mags are not "upscale mossberg mags," nor are they copies. They are metal bodies surrounded in plastic (not the other way around), which offers a host of advantages.

Not as pretty. You may be right. Glocks are generally purchased because of fnctionality, not aesthetics, though there are those trouble children that need to dress their glocks up to show them off.

For those who don't like the "grips" (frames), there are options in size and texture.

Glock won't lose sale if you don't purchase. Every one made, will sell.

But eventually, you will buy a Glock.

Glock 43x with 15 round Shield metal magazines. I buy as many of those magazines I can get my hands on and I'm on my third 43x going to stock pile them. imo best Glock ever made. 43x mos will be my next one. might even spring for a 48.

I don't like the idea of plastic mags wrapped in metal (Upscale Mossberg Mags)
Don't like the grips
Think there are better choices in which to purchase.

I'll pass, thank you.

Actually the mags are metal and wrapped in plastic thank you very much, and better choices is very subjective, especially when most of the “better” choices are somebody else’s take on the Glock design. And guns aren’t purses. If you’re judging a gun just on looks then you’re just being silly.
I used to think like you. I still hate them out of the box, but when you change the sights and the trigger shoe they are pretty awesome guns.
I also enjoy not having to spend 30-40 bucks on metal magazines without the bonus plastic wrapping.

Unless your looking for Bling, you will have a hard time finding anything better than a Glock.
There are many other excellent guns, but for utilitarian purposes they are hard to beat.
In fact, many say they can't be beat, and they have the numbers to back up that claim.

Or maybe it's a case of glockophobia...

I don't need either but I've been itching for a 43X or 48.
I can't decide which one, probably the 43X.

There is a gun show here this weekend.
It's a terrible time to buy, but I may go just to watch the crowd..

So, I'm guessing you don't like AK's either?

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Glock

I remember back when I first bought my Glock 32 I even rebelled in getting a ".357SIG" for my Glock, get it?! (back around 2004 I think)

It still won me over and was my main carry from 2004-2017...Glock makes a great practical/tactical gun that works anywhere and in any caliber they make it in basically.

I tried out some Magpul Pmags for the Glock 19 today at the range. We had 3 different generations of the G19 to use in our test.
Everything ran perfectly. Currently, my LGS has them on sale for $10.60 per mag. That alone makes a Glock an attractive choice IMO.

Since my previous post in this thread, I think, I have added a G19x, and a Wilson Combat Gen5 G17. Yes, a $1K+ polymer pistol. (I
did find it pre-owned, in pristine condition, but without box or papers, so the first owner took the depreciation hit.)

Nice score on the Wilson.

I was able to put together a Salient BLU as the individual parts went on sale. It was still more than a Glock, but way cheaper than I thought it would be.

Alright, I gave in and went the gun show 4 days before the election.
It was a MADHOUSE.
Parking lot FULL.
Had to park 2 blocks away and I got there at 10AM.

Was in search of a Glock 43X.
Found 3 sellers selling them for $700 and 2 sellers selling for $800.
Didn't even have night sights.
Several sellers had G48, but no 43X.

Then found a seller that had them for $525 no N/S, what I would expect to pay for one.
Waiting to talk to the dealer a guy came around me and asked if he could look at the 43X.
I said sure you can handle it, but I'm about to purchase it.
He was bummed, fortunately the seller had 2 of them.
So today I did buy a Glock 43X.

Already ordered my Vicker's slide stop, mag release, and MGW Rear Sight Tool Glock 42, 43 Adapter Kit for my Glock sight pusher.
Now to get on the waitlist for the Shield Arms mags.

I was also going to buy a Beretta 21A Bobcat or Tomcat but no luck there.
Don't know why I want one.
