Very nice! I really like how they FINALLY used a smooth trigger on the G19. Since it is made in Austria I wonder how they got around the import points things without using a "target" trigger.

For the love of God, here ya go!

I think you'd accidentally left a piece of chewing gum paper covering the ejection port.. for the love of God. Wink

FYI, here is a review of the Gen 5 G19. While it is not necessary the end of the world, this guy took a BTF at approx the 2:46-minute mark of the video. Some of these new pistols will probably have no issues and some will probably have a little more BTF issues, it still seems to be the luck of the draw, and you can't blame it all on the ammo or limp wristing. Also if they were building new molds to eliminate the finger grooves, why not also put more of an undercut on the trigger guard and also enlarge the trigger guard a little more so it would be more user friendly when wearing winter gloves ? Also, why not do an ambi mag release if your doing an ambi slide release ? Holster compatibility is probably the reason most of the changes were not made. I imagine the Gen 5 Glocks should fit in the Gen 3 and 4 holsters just fine, but I am not 100% certain on that.

Nice to see a Glock without finger grooves again, stayed with Gen 2,the humps never lined up for my fat fingers.Deal with it on my G30,no other choice, really like the chunky little cannon. Will check out the Gen 5,maybe for a spare 19.

A comment on ejection was made. I saw the video and he sure did get pinged once, but....if you notice the extraction seems to be substantially more positive. Mine was absolutely flinging cases out of the gun compared to some Gen 4's where they kind of dribbled out. Good to see.

I did it!!

Our LE dealer is getting guns in late next month and a list is starting. I called to order a 17 for a coworker and of course he said ok and I'll put you down for a 17 and 19.

I resisted and said no!

Glock tried that once already. It didn't go over very well.

I tried out a Gen 5 Glock 17 today and loved it. What a sweet and soft shooter for me. Sure did not feel like a 2X4 to me and actually was very comfortable to hold and shoot. They still had them at LGS range from Saturday and I told them I would like to try it out if they could put the large back strap on for my larger hands and they did. Glock did a great job with the Gen 5 and they are going to sell a lot of them. They sold out what they had by early Saturday.

I shot 30 rounds at 7 yards at a casual pace of about a round per 1-2 seconds. 10 rounds at each 3 inch Shoot-N-C dot.

One dealer had them at the Tampa gun show this weekend. I wasn't paying $700 to be the first. They look good and everyone I know who's shot one has liked it.

What, me worry?

Interesting. Maybe it was The Donald. Smile

For those who are fortunate to see the Ameriglo and Glock Night Sight (GNS) models, can you take pics? I'm curious if the GNS model has traditional night sights, or an upgraded variant, and if the Ameriglo model has u or square notch rear.

as i understand it the Ameriglo model is the Spartan, which is a square rear notch.

I'm still waiting to hear from my dealer. I was told I'm first on the blue label list. I'm hopeful for a call tomorrow or Thursday.

$649 from GT. Are these AmeriGlo sights factory installed or by GT?

LEO price: $491 shipped. As far as who (factory or GT) installed the sights, I don't know.

If I like it like I think I will, I can see myself getting the G17 in a couple months.

Our local range had Glock here last Friday night from mid night to 2 am with the new models to shoot and for sale. I didn't get there but will ask tomorrow how things went. I want to know how people liked them and how many they sold.
