For real?![]() |
For me, everything has a holster. even pocket guns with manual safeties. Not minority enough!

I have not yet begun to procrastinate |
This for me. Autos get a pocket holster (LCP), j-frames (649) are either AIWB with a holster or just dropped in a coat pocket sans holster. -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box.

No holster with a model 49 in pants pocket. I do use a galco pocket holster in my jacket inside pocket though. ![]() .

I pocket carry my LCP. The super heavy trigger is not likely to "just go off accidentally", but the holster helps keep the gun upright in your pocket.

Imagination and focus become reality |
I really didn't know how to answer because I almost always carry my J-Frame in a Low Alessi IWB holster. However, if I am wearing a jacket, if I am not carrying anything heavier, I just toss the 642 in my jacket pocket.

I carry my J frame (right now a632UC) in an uncle mikes #4. I would not be concerned about using no holster with a j frame, but I find that one big advantage is that using even a soft unit like an uncle mikes #4 keeps the revolver properly oriented in the pocket.

I'm on the fence here... ![]() Seriously though, this is the only pistol/only method I use for Pocket Carry, and only in a jacket pocket, as my P365s are either a factory P365-X variant, or a P365 with the P365XL Grip Module, a configuration I was using before SIG even launched the P365-X. ![]() ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! I don't pocket carry very often, but when it's happened it always is done with a holster. However the couple of times that I've been tempted to carry my concealed hammer LCR, I felt that it would be safe to carry that without a holster...as long as I remember to keep everything else out of that pocket. Which ultimately is why I use a pocket holster because I know me and my absent-minded pocket-use habits ("Which pocket did I put my car keys in again? Oops."). -MG

I agree with TheFrontRange, my 340M&P when pocket carried also rides in a JW O'Rourke pocket holster (we probably ran into each other at those shows in Birmingham). For the rare times I carry my Seecamp that's either in another holster from John or the Del Fatti I have for it.

Wait, what?![]() |
Normally I’m a holster carrier but I’d have no issue pocket carrying a revolver or a DA/SA auto sans holster but anything else gets one. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

I didn't have a lot of extra $ when I came home from my fun times in Vietnam in November of '68. Well, I did, but used the $ to buy a new car, a motor cycle and some civilian clothes. From the time I turned 21 in December and became a member of the local PD till maybe February or March I carried the K frame 38 I bought for both on and off duty, just stuck it in my belt under a T in what they called "Mexican" carry (don't know why, never saw a Mexican carrying a gun that way, but...). Then long about February or March, 1969, I bought my first J Frame and carried it, or one like it, in my right front pocket sans holster for many, many years. By the 70s pocket holsters became widely known, but the ones I saw were the softies they still sell-couldn't see any value in them, so no holster. Now I carry semi-autos, but still have Ruger LCRs and though I have softies (I stick them to the inside of the door to the safe and keep my LCRs in 'em, I rarely carry the LCRs at all. I do have one of the new S&W Bodyguard 380s and I have a Kydex pocket holster that I often carry it in, though IWB or AIWB is my favorite way to carry. Bob

I guess it could be argued that a pocket is the holster if you don't carry any other object in there but I still feel WAY more comfortable/safe with the trigger covered in a pocket holster even with my current carry which is a Kahr CM9 that has a nice smooth but long and rather stiff trigger pull.
