That would be 1911 finds, my friend. And they are marvelous.

Both good looking guns for sure! The Helton would get my vote, as I have always preferred short triggers, and they are rare anymore on 1911’s. I really think the vast majority of shooters would be better served with short triggers. The Army went to short triggers in the 1920’s, and I think they were spot on there

Those are nice. That Helton would pretty much be the highlight of my gun safe. Well done.

The pair of 1911s takes a turn. A gentleman contacted me about the Massad. Seems he almost bought one when they were still making them in 2010 but ultimately ended up with a Kobra Carry model instead. He has been looking for one since. He kept sending me photos of trade offers. I mentioned I sold a Colt Special Combat in .38 Super and would like to find one of those. He found one for sale and sent me the photos. It was almost identical to the one I sold. Long story short the trade is in the works. Glad I could help old Joe complete his quest and mine, even though I did like that Massad.

Took my first shots with the custom 1911 today and happy to say it ran without any issues. It's been a while since I shot a 1911 and my targets shows the long layoff. But I still had fun!

Here's the trade pistol I received for the Ed Brown Massod Ayoob. 2018 Colt Special Combat in .38 Super. The Special Combat pistols were all built in the Colt Custom Shop by one gunsmith. This one was built by Greg Mozzotta confirmed by his stamp of #9 on the trigger guard. A real fine Colt.
