How does it rate compared to the other CZs you have?

bac1023- I hate you. Razz

I'm really interested in this new pistol. I have yet to acquire a 1911 or a CZ, but I've always like the way each shoots and handles.

The A01 LD, I just saw that a few days back in their site. Wondered if anyone here had one. Do a write up for us bac when you get time. Thats about the sweetest dang CZ I've yet seen.

I know Honest Outlaw did a review on one and didn't recommend it, and he's a huge CZ fan.

Thank you Dan for posting that. He does a good review. I am guessing at 52 ounces the frame is steel. Bacs model has much taller sights. Look to be black irons. Pretty nice pistol sans the cycle issues.

First, bac1023 - thank you for posting that!

Second, I HATE YOU for posting that.

Seems like my wallet is going to be taking a hit soon. I'll wait and see what SS2023 lines up before taking the plunge though.

Guys,

The A01-LD has nothing to do with CZ. It’s built entirely by CZ Custom, which is not owned by CZ. The A01 has a forged frame and is very well made. CZ’s have cast frames. CZ Custom modifies CZ’s primarily, but they also build their own guns.

I’ve never had a failure with either of mine, so maybe HO got a lemon somehow. I know other people who own them with no issues either. I have the standard model and the Limited model I posted above. The Limited model comes with a hard chrome finish.

The A01 being worth it falls on which camp you're on. If you thought it was a mistake for CZ to move away from the SP-01 style grip shape, then this gun is for you. If you don't and really prefer the Shadow 2 style grip, then you'll probably think it's over prices and would prefer one of the custom Shadow 2s that are out there.

I honestly think the A01 is a nicer gun than anything CZ builds.

The CZ Custom Shadow 2’s are just that. Shadow 2’s that get modified. The A01 is built 100% by CZ Custom.

So I'm reading this as nicer than the DWX?

The one I posted is the Limited model. It has taller sights to use with an optic. It’s also SAO

I don’t consider the DWX a CZ anymore than I consider a new Colt Python a CZ.

That being said, I like my A01’s more than the DWX also I think, especially the SAO model. They are very nice pistols. No cycling issues to report.

Here’s my standard model

It's interesting to see the gun comparisons by bac1023. With the back of the slides in a similar position in all the photos it's kinda remarkable how the position of the triggers on each gun are so dramatically different.

Thanks for posting so many comparisons.

I know. I also know that what I mentioned was one of Angus Hobdell's reason for building the A01 according to old YouTube interviews at SHOT Show.
