So I guess this actually happened. Anyone have one yet? Thoughts (other than "I can't believe they actually did this" or "Even though I've never shot one it's not worth the wait")?

It just hit the market today. Perhaps give guys a week or two time to acquire and shoot one? Unless you're a top-10 YouTube gun reviewer, then you probably don't have access to one yet.

Hey, this is SigForum! I figured there are at least some top tier folks here. And I believe that there are some high volume sellers that might have gotten one or two them in stock to handle (or play with).

Look, as far as I'm concerned this is closest I've come to a Christmas miracle is a long time. I can hope someone I trust has enough cash to drop on one, take it for a spin, and tell me to spend my boys' Christmas cash on one of these (or not).

Re: MSRP - that seems similar to the TSO (etc) ballpark.

I had thought God was protecting me from myself…
Though I will probably wait till the lightweight model comes out and has been around for a year. Then no doubt off on a road-trip to CGW.

Was the delayed release simply a supply chain issue or was there something else that kept this from the market?

Dan Wesson hasn't said. When they initially postponed it indefinitely, their announcement alluded to unspecified "obstacles, setbacks, and challenges", but never gave details.

Wow. I'd honestly expected this was never gonna happen.

Well this is interesting...I didn't expect that:

And right where you’d expect the typical CZ sear cage, it’s enlarged to form a fire control group, just like the P320 — yep, it’s a chassis pistol.

I'd be interested to see some photos of that.

The rumor is we'll hear more on the expanded DWX line at SHOT Show, but the full size is available now and there's some currently on GunBroker. It's a nice Christmas Present, but if they can get these with an optics cut, this will be a much better buy than the new Sig X5

They're based in Norwich, NY. What I heard was that during the pandemic, NY State had too many Covid restrictions for DW to operate smoothly and put out a new model. Could be since restrictions have been lifted, so have those "obstacles & challenges."

Several years ago they said they made this gun for USPSA Limited which doesn't allow optics. To also be fair, I think this will need to be studied more before milling because I think this between the height of a Shadow 2 and a 1911 slide.

While what is being released NOW doesn't have the optics cut, I believe other models being released later will have one.

And I guess that could be considered "a miss", to me at this point it does seem like a miracle, especially with some of the things I had heard on the interwebs shitcanning this gun entirely and permanently. Now it seems like it was just delayed and everything that was promised in 2020 will be online by mid-late 2023.

Well I can say I would buy this at 2000 dollars over a 1500 dollar Prodigy. I have a CZ/Dan Wesson bias because I love their stuff. Especially DW.

I find the chassis system interesting. I’m no engineer but that sounds to me like the potential to make polymer 2011 style grip modules and that is a direct competition to Staccato. Maybe I’m reading that wrong but I don’t think so. Lots of potential growth there.

I will get one. Probably a Compact when they come out or I will wait for the optics cut full-size version.

This is a win. A delayed win but a win.

Given all of the crap that has happened in the past couple of years, the naysayers were seriously expecting way too much. Good for CZ/DW to see this one through, though it does seem somewhat silly that the optic cut wasn't planned AND executed from the word go.
