I have this gun and I'm pretty disappointed in it.

I THOUGHT it would be the best of the best, and it sorta is, at what it is.

Sights are off, point of impact is off, slide eats the web of my hand for lunch (blood). Its reliable. I'll give it that.

To clean the striker channel or change the striker, you have to remove the rear sight, which is pretty dumb engineering if you ask me.

Its tiny. Its best as a deep concealment gun. If you don't need deep concealment, then get something else.

While I 100% agree with this statement I’ve never found semi autos very conducive to pocket carry unless they are abnormally small. I always find the nature of the shape that a semi auto has to have leads to it just being more likely to hang up/grab on something from the pocket. I also find most just “look like a gun” in the pocket. I find small revolvers just work better for pocket carry for me across the board.

I’m not preaching here or saying x person is wrong or some such I’m just saying what I’ve found for me personally over the years. Ankle carry is a different story for these.

So I’m the kind of guy who wouldn’t get the BG because if I’m gonna belt carry why not get a 365 and since I’m belt carrying anyway why do I need a 365 so why not up the size to an XL/Macro/Hellcat Pro/Shield etc.

Now that little BG 2.0 would be absolutely forgettable on a belt or ankle.

It's smaller than the P365 (I have one of those, too) and much lighter.

I haven't felt any sharp angles or edges and the slide had never cut my hand (think Walther PPK).

I replaced my LCO Max with the 2.0 and found the gun shoots better and more accurately, is much more comfortable to shoot recoil wise.

Disappears in my pocket (shorts or jeans) in a Kydex Pocket Locker from Vedder. I have one for my P365 as well and both disappear the gun, just the 365 is a bit heavier but fine in jeans for me.

If I HAD to sell one of the two-the 365 or the 2.0, I'd pick the 365 to put on the block.

If you think I'm a fan of this little Smith 2.0, you're right. And it is quite surprising to me that I like it so much as I have not bought anything Smith made since they started with that lock years ago. Like others, at the time, I swore off S&W and I stuck with it. This little 2.0 sold me on it the first time I picked it up. One of these days I'll see if there is something else by Smith I'd like to own.

That’s high praise indeed.

I'm not a big fan of micro-autos, I don't really trust .380, and I don't like the idea of a striker-fired pocket gun. But despite all of that, I'm really intrigued by the reviews on this thing and really want to try shooting one. I'm not sure how I'd use it, or even if I would...but I want to try one.

Finally had the chance to put a few magazines through the Bodyguard 2.0. AMAZING little machine.

Very pleasant and actually fun to shoot. sufficiently accurate. Remarkably tiny (essentially the same size and width as my Ruger LCP with about one round width's additional length to the gripframe).

I love mine; it's in my pocket whenever I'm home/awake (my P365 is with me everywhere else)

The 2.0 is striker-fired.

I'm another who has replaced his LCP Max w/ a BG 2.0. One small caveat. The LCP Max uses an internal hammer. BG 2.0 uses a striker. I had some ammo w/ hard primers. Where the BG would experience light primer strikes, the LCP Max would fire off the same ammo w/o a hitch.

I believe it's a trade-off to getting a lighter trigger pull, so as usual, make sure to test your SD ammo before relying on it.

A friend of mine bought one of these, he bought it for his wife.
It was like running a sewing machine in the few mag dumps I did. No appreciable recoil and it was FAST to cycle. No mishaps, failures to fire or any other complaints.
I asked what happened to it and he traded it in on a 5 shot S&W that he knew immediately his wife would hate due to the recoil.
That .380 was outstanding!
In the grand scheme of things, the .380 was hands down a better handgun for a recoil sensitive shooter.

I've been considering replacing my LCP and my wife's Glock 42 with the Bodyguard 2.0.
I haven't done it because the LCP is just so easy to carry and slip into a pocket.
Although I do like the mag capacity of the 2.0.

My biggest question in replacing the G42 is how easy it is to rack the slide in the 2.0?
I've yet to handle one, even though my range has one to rent.

I love the concealability of my LCP, but it is no joy to shoot.
Did you find the 2.0 any more difficult to carry in a pocket?

I transitioned from the LCP II to the BG 2.0 and there was no noticeable difference pocket carrying the guns. Shooting, however, was night/day; the BG 2.0 is SOOOO much easier & comfortable to shoot. The slide might be a little stiffer to manipulate, but the serrations coupled with the grip you obtain on the frame compensates for the stiffer recoil spring. I would highly recommend a standard UpLula for loading the magazines.

The BG2.0 is a stiff slide to rack and tiny. Good serrations but tiny. That being said it is a shooter. They all need to have the sights drifted from factory and the rsa is a bit wonky during reassembly but there is an easy fix to that. The only 380 I have ever shot that is as easy to shoot as fast and accurate is the P238.

Thank y'all for the info.
Next range trip I'll need to rent the 2.0 and shoot side by side with the LCP.
I need to get up there and shoot the new to me Beretta 84BB and the 442 I had sent to S&W for a trigger clean-up.
