If you haven't had a chance to handle or shoot one of these pocket rockets... you might want to do so. It's RIDICULOUSLY small. the counter guy took out the first model Bodyguard (which is almost exactly the size of the gen 1 LCP) and the 2.0 is almost the same size overall. A very small amount longer in the slide is all. Amazing features and function (actual sights, last round hold-open) for such a diminutive pistol. Local shop has it for $399 and I'm trying to resist.

A good video for any curious.

It just feels fragile to me. I don’t have an objective reason but it’s not just the size/weight.

I think I would still prefer my Smith .38 Spl Lightweight revolver.
There is such a thing as "too small."

Replaced the misses LCP MAX with one, she likes shooting it MUCH better as do I.

It's THE pocket pistol to have, not even close.

After shooting one that a friend of mine had, I ran out the next day and bought one.
As a matter of fact, all my other buddies that tried it that day ran out and bought one. Also, that’s how much we all liked it.

Pictures and videos just don’t do it justice, you really have to pick it up and hold it to appreciate the small size, lightweight, and ergonomic feel of this little pistol.

It’s about the same dimensions as my Kahr CW380, which if you ever held one of those you know how tiny it is, but the downside is that you really don’t get a great grip on it. Whereas this new Smith & Wesson is pretty much the same size but you get a perfect grip on it like a midsize gun.
It really blows your mind the first time you pick it up!

So, the pros & cons-

Pros- for its size the little gun feels fantastic, has a reasonably nice trigger, so far has been very reliable and fairly accurate with most ammo. There seems to be quite a few holsters coming available for it, I have a pocket and an ankle holster and it carries very well in both places. The sites are decent. Slide rations are aggressive enough that you can get a good grip to run the slide. Grip texture has that cats tongue kind of texture and fits well in your hand. disassembly and cleaning is fairly easy compared to some of the little 380s. I’ve shot it on the falling plate rack at the club out to 15 yards and it mows them down no problem impressive little gun.

Cons- we all bought our pistols around the same time, and they all had the same issue with the front sight being off center in the dovetail. They were all off to the right, which made the gun shoot to the left. Drifting the sights is a challenge, they are extremely tight and take some patience to get it drifted center. But it is possible, and once we got the sights centered the little guns shoot perfectly to point of aim.
Although the sights are small, they do work well. The rear U notch is exaggerated wide, and if the aftermarket comes out with replacement sights I would seriously consider putting them on my gun, but for the time being the factory sights work fine. I personally haven’t had any feed issues with ammunition with a rounded nose. Ball ammo feeds 100%. Hollow points with a rounded ogive seem to feed fine also. Mine likes the critical defense with the little red polymer tip in the hollow point, eats it up, no problem and shoots it to point of aim. The gun did not like the Underwood monolithic ammunition. This is the solid copper ammo with the flutes, the 380 ammo has a fairly square nose and it gets hung up between the feed ramp and the barrel. Which brings me to an area of the design which I’m not crazy about. There is a frame mounted feed ramp which transitions to the barrel feed ramp. The issue I see is that there is a gap between the frame and barrel ramps, which creates a small transition area and that’s where the sharp nose Underwood ammo hangs up on. I did polish and blend the areas together, which probably fixed 50% of the jams with the Underwood, but I’m not risking carrying that in my particular gun. Buddies of mine have been hit or miss with the Underwood, some say that they are shooting it 100% reliable and others are having my experience so whatever defensive ammo you pick you should definitely spend some time and make sure it functions correctly.

All in all, it’s a cool little gun which, in my opinion, is probably at the top of the heap for its intended purpose. Well, worth the 400 bucks.

Thanks for the report GCE. I primarily use Critical Defense as it's one of the few loads that performs semi-consistently and (barely) meets the FBI penetration minimum in calibrated gel. Good to hear that load is reliable in your gun.

Is this it?

Does anyone pocket carry (or other very deep concealment) it? There appears to be a lot of sharp edges, corners and facets, whereas the first and second-generation LCP (second-gen not to be confused with LCP II) is sleek and smooth.

A 4-inch height (I assume this is from the bottom of the grip with a magazine in place to the top of the slide), roughly the same as a P365, and a width of 0.8 inches (measured where?), also roughly that of the P365, takes it out of true pocket/hideout and into small belt gun territory. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I don't think it's for me.

Trust me... go look at one in person. Put it next to a 365.

If you have an LCP or original Bodyguard for reference, it's about the same size as those.

S&W Bodyguard 2.0

It's smaller than the P365, but it's .380.

https://www.handgunhero.com/co...wesson-bodyguard-2-0

Make it a 9, same size, and I'll consider it. Clearly, it's doable (P365).

There is now one less S&W BG 2.0 out in the wild. I will keep it and feed it and call it George. Well maybe not George, but something.

As much as I like the LCP (original), the Bodyguard 2.0 is a big step up.

I'm thinking about the S&W BG 2.0.
I've been carrying my original LCP since they came out.
It is so easy to carry, but not much fun to shoot..

I called my local range yesterday and they have one as well.
I'll go try it out next week.

My wife favors her G42.
I'd prefer she have more rounds and less recoil if the BG 2.0 provides that.
I just have to find a way to make it her idea and not mine.. Cool

I thought the P365 9mm would put an end to all the .380s. I just can’t see the reason to carry .380 when the P365 is as good as it is.
