| Check out the full size Springfield Loaded in 9mm. Never had any issues with mine and it's like shooting a .22! |

| I can't comment on DW as I've never shot one. I do have a Colt Competition S/S in 9mm that's a really nice shooting gun, it's also really well fitted and really tight as far as barrel/bushing fit and slide to frame fit......My 1911's are either above DW or below in terms of price. I'd say DW is probably a small step above Colt.......I do love shooting a 1911 government 9mm though. |

I have an SA Loaded in .45 and it is awesome. It's more accurate than me, and is so easy to shoot it makes me look good. Sure there are more expensive 1911s out there, but I don't imagine they would do anything for me that my Loaded doesn't. I imagine one in 9mm would be pretty excellent. Another option is the SA EMP4, if you're looking for something commander sized. The thing with the EMP is that they scaled down the action a bit to fit the 9mm round. This eliminated the need for spacers in the mags, and supposedly lead to better reliability, although I haven't heard of modern 9mm 1911s being particularly unreliable, so it may have been a solution looking for a problem. I've been very happy with mine...it's a great shooting gun, lightweight and compact, and IMO would make a nice carry option for somebody looking to CC a 1911 in 9mm. |

| I have a Specialist in 9mm and really like it, a Valor in 9mm is an awesome 1911!. I have not seen a Valor in 9mm in a long while, for the money DW is hard to beat. SA has some nice 1911's in 9mm right now but they are a step below DW, they are still very nice but not as nice. |

I would recommend a Valor in commander size for 9 mm. DW made a bull barrel 9 mm commander the year they decided to discontinue the Valor line at the end of 2018. It came with heartwood grips.
Thanks for that rundown! I like the Valor for the look, and the fact it has the word Valor on it. Just kinda always resonated with me. Thanks everyone for the advice! I think i will stick with my search for a 9mm Valor. Not sure about full size or Commander, but with it being discontinued, who knows what I’ll find when, anyway.

| Love my 9mm Valor. Managed to get a blued one while they offered that option and really like the pistol. Buttery smooth slide and very accurate. You won't regret buying one. |

| I kind of went through the same dilemma. I was a 9mm and .233/5.56 guy…period. One caliber for handguns and one for rifles.
I also didn’t own any 1911s, but had been curious for a long time. Was planning to buy one chambered in 9mm, when my son (who’s 25 years old) turned to me and said…”you’re going to regret not getting your first 1911 in .45ACP.”
I thought about it, and he was right, so I bought a Springfield Mil Spec basic parkerized government 1911 and a few hundred rounds of .45 ACP. I had so much fun at the range that first time I shot that pistol.
Now I can buy more 1911s chambered in 9mm and not always have that “should I get it in .45?” feeling. |

| I have an EMP4 in 9mm and two Valors in 9mm. One stainless, one blued. You can’t go wrong with a DW Valor in 9mm. It’s a pretty wonderful gun. Hard to miss with. Beautifully fitted gun with minimal roll marks. |

| My Ruger Lightweight Commander in 9mm has been a great gun, as well. It has become my EDC pistol. Highly recommended! |

This is a really good point, and something I've always appreciated about the Dan Wessons (even though I can't afford one). My EMP has a massive ugly billboard on the side of it. SA did finally get a clue, though, and their newer stuff has much nicer, more subdued roll marks. My Loaded is of that newer generation, and IMO it looks pretty classy. |
