Ruger MKII Govt. Target--Will keep 'em all on a QUARTER at 50 yards from a Benchrest with Ammo it likes AND IF the Shooter is up to the task... Travis Strahan-built Accu-lock Bullseye 1911 in .45 ACP--Built on a WWII Remington-Rand Frame, I have no idea how well it shoots as I have not yet fired it after picking it up recently--But I WILL! S&W Model 29-2 with 8 & 3/8" Barrel... Colt Series 70 "Full-house" build by Richard Heinie... S&W Model 686-6 Five-inch Half-Lug Seven-shooter w/Action Job by Randy Lee at Apex Tactical... G-22 GSSF Open Gun built for a member of Team Carver Mounts--Had a KKM threaded 9mm Conversion Barrel & KKM Two-Chamber Comp, lightened Slide, C-More RDS on a Carver Mount & a pretty decent Trigger-- Didn't shoot 115-grainers all that well, but 124's and heavier it wanted to put in one hole at 25 yards...I sold the Carver Mount to a friend who wanted it badly & replaced it with an Austrian-made Seidler Mount, which worked about as well as the Carver Mount had...This message has been edited. Shooting off-hand with 9mm I'd probably say that I'm consistently more accurate with my Laugo Alien, but I can also say that I'm nearly as consistent with regular old poly pistols like the original Walther PPQ M1, HK VP9, and any number of Caniks. I've a bunch of single-action pistols as well, from my SIG P210s and P226 X-Fives, CZ Shadows and Tactical Sports, and WC EDC X9. And I've been pretty good with good old P228 and P229 pistols as well. A couple of my tuned Glocks aren't bad as well. When it comes to rimfire, my S&W M41 I'm still acclimating to, but at times I can do better with it than I can with my trusty Browning Buck Mark Hunter or 6" SIG Trailside. As for revolvers and other calibers: I shoot my 5" GP100 and 4" 686+ pretty well when it comes to revolvers. Both of my SIG P220 SSEs and my Colt M45A1 were close when it came to my accuracy with them, but I admit that I haven't shot either of them in some time, spending what little .45AUTO shooting I've done in more recent times to my G21 and CZ 97, neither of which are in the same realm with my accuracy when compared to the SIGs or the Colt. When it comes to .40S&W, I do best with my P229 and my rather punchy VP40, though with the HK I'm finding that as I've gotten older flinching is now a thing with that particular gun. At times I can do pretty well with my tarted-up Gen3 G24, but its snappiness is worse than my EDC Gen4 G23 and that ulnar nerve in my strong elbow does love to protest a lot these days with fo-tay... -MG

I’m a plinker and don’t get serious with grouping tests. I can shoot most consistently with my Buckmark and a P229. “That’s what.” - She

Prepared for the Worst, Providing the Best |
It's hard to quantify which of my handguns is the most accurate as I am typically the limiting factor, not the gun. I have had a few guns that were decidedly innacurate...my son's Ruger Wrangler probably being the worst. To get a true assessment I'd need a Ransom rest, which I don't have. As to guns that I shoot the best I've probably got to give that one to my Ruger MkII and MkIV, but that's kind of a cop-out as there's not really any recoil to contend with and they're set up with sights for target shooting. As to centerfire, I shoot my P320 full-size, Beretta 92, and P220 Compact pretty well. For revolvers I'd probably say my GP100.

My other Sig is a Steyr. |
I've had good results with most any Sig in 7.65mm.

Out of the box - 1992 Sig P220 .45. .75"/25yds out of a Ransom Rest Post-finessing - 2020 Colt Competition .45. I wish I still had the Ransom Rest to see what this one can really do after all of the work I have done to it, but at 15yds I have put 8 through the same hole off of a rest.

Rimfire; either Colt Woodsman Match Target or S&W 41. When I miss with either I know for sure that it's me not the pistol. Centerfire; naturally the 1911 Gold Cup and P210 but surprisingly I shoot the P7's just about as well. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

I've got 2 custom build 1911's that can hold a group like it's a cool thing to do. A P-226 that had just a little work that's accurate! A Ruger MK III that can knock the wings off of a fly. I sold a S&W mod52-1 that was probably the most accurate pistol I've ever shot. Laser accurate, and you just couldn't miss! The only problem now is I need to get better so I can do the above with my pistols! ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. H&K VP9 Tactical Glock 21 P-226 in .40 takes the cake though. Seems like I can't miss with that one.

The two that have consistently been accurate for both me and my wife are the STI Targetmaster in 9mm and 45. She can shoot both but prefers the 9mm. USMC (Ret) 1970-1990 Recovering 1911 Addict NRA Benefactor Member

My T/C Contenders are quite accurate, but nothing compares to my Remington XP100 in .223 Remington. One hole groups at 100 yards if I do my job.

Both of my most accurate handguns featured Tensioned Barrels. The first is my Dan Wesson 15-2 with a 6 inch barrel mounted. Off a rest and really taking my time I've managed a 1.1 inch group at 100 yards. Note did that with iron sights and visually the front sight looked about 5 times wider than the 2.75 inch shoot-n-c sticker I was using as my aim point. The second is my S&W 620. With that one I was cheating and used a 1.75 power handgun scope at 50 yards. Managed 3/4 inches at 50 yards with it off a rather shaky bench at an indoor range. With a bit more magnification and a concrete bench I expect it's capable of under 1 MOA. I've stopped counting.
