The year is 1983. And you are tasked with picking a reliable semi-automatic pistol to outfit your four man unit. The 1911 is off the table.

What do you chose? Smile

SIG P226 but honestly that’s looking through decades of future use bias.

If it’s 1983 and I only know what I know based on that time period (the SIG has just been released) I would probably go BHP due to its known history at the time.

Easy choice for me and shocked it hasn't been suggested yet:

CZ 75 (preferably a D but I'm not sure when it came out).

Maybe a Sig P210

What is my 4 man unit doing and where are they doing it?

CZ75 is a solid choice. Glock was very new to the marketplace and wasn't really trusted yet. Sig had just come out with the 226.

I'd probably say either the CZ or a Sig 220. BHP would be my next choice, maybe higher depending on just what kind of shooters I'm equiping.

Beretta 92. And you gotta have Martin Riggs' haircut too.

This was the time of the "wonder 9", so one of them boat anchor S&W semi-autos would also fill the bill nicely.
