Glock is streamlining its lineup to focus on Gen 5 MOS models, which support optics-ready slides, and phasing out less popular calibers (.357 SIG, .40 S&W, .45 GAP). This aligns with market trends favoring 9mm and optics-ready firearms. Some models (e.g., Glock 30S, 36) may still be listed in the U.S. but discontinued in Europe or vice versa.

Gen 3 Models:

  • Glock 21 SF (Standard, Fixed Sights, 5/5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 20 SF (Standard, Fixed Sights, 5/5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 29 SF (Standard, Fixed Sights, 5/5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 30 SF (Standard, Fixed Sights, 5/5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 22 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 23 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 27 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 31 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 32 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 33 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, CA Compliant)

  • Glock 34

Models retained for California’s roster but now phased out due to roster changes or low demand.

    Gen 4 Models:

  • Glock 40 Gen 4 MOS (Adjustable Sights, 4.5lb Trigger)

  • Most Gen 4 models in 9mm and .40 S&W, previously restricted to law enforcement, now fully discontinued for commercial markets

  • Glock 37, 38, 39 (.45 GAP models, speculated as discontinued due to low demand).

    Gen 5 Models:

  • Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, 10/15RD)

  • Glock 22 Gen 5 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, 10/15RD)

  • Glock 23 Gen 5 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, 10/13RD, MOS and non-MOS)

  • Glock 27 Gen 5 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, 9RD)

  • Glock 29 Gen 5 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, 10RD)

  • Glock 30 Gen 5 (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, 10RD)

  • Glock 34 Gen 5 MOS (Adjustable Sights, 4.5lb Trigger, 10/17RD)

  • Glock 49 MOS (Fixed Sights, 5.5lb Trigger, 10/15RD)

    45 GAP Caliber Models:

  • All models chambered in .45 GAP (e.g., Glock 37, 38, 39) due to declining popularity.

    357 SIG Caliber Models:

  • All models in .357 SIG (e.g., Glock 31, 32, 33) as the caliber has fallen out of favor.

    40 S&W Caliber Models:

  • Most .40 S&W models, including Gen 5 variants (e.g., Glock 22, 23, 27), due to reduced market demand compared to 9mm.

    Other Specific Models:

  • Glock 25 (.380 ACP, discontinued in the U.S. market, limited run).

  • Glock 30S (.45 ACP, noted as discontinued on some platforms, possibly region-specific)

  • Glock 36 (.45 ACP, single-stack, discontinued in some markets).

  • Models with aftermarket sights (e.g., Ameriglo Bolds, Glock Night Sights) or adjustable sights (e.g., Glock 34 Gen 5 with adjustable sights).

Besides the obvious caliber trimming/slow sellers etc. I would guess a Gen 6 is on the horizon and may be a departure from the legacy Glocks in some way. Now that Gaston is gone it may have spurred change (for better or worse).

They'd almost have to, at this point.

But I guess it remains to be seen how much of Glock's reputation for resistance to change/resting on their laurels was Gaston himself and how much of it was institutional.

(And the fact that they made significant changes to the fire control system in the Gen 5 suggests that even under Gaston they weren't completely anti-innovation.)

California Assembly Bill 1127 (AB 1127), recently passed through the state's Judiciary Committee. Dubbed the “Glock ban,” the bill would prohibit the sale of firearms in California that could potentially accept automatic fire converter devices—specifically targeting Glocks and similar handguns. These devices are already illegal under federal and state law, but the bill aims to preemptively ban any firearm capable of being modified with them.

The bill passed quickly, gaining significant support in the legislature and from gun control advocacy groups like Everytown for Gun Safety. Only two organizations—Gun Owners of California and Gun Owners of America—spoke in opposition. Critics argue the bill:

Targets law-abiding gun owners instead of criminals,
Attempts to make already-illegal behavior more illegal,
Is likely unconstitutional based on multiple Supreme Court rulings (e.g., Heller, McDonald, Bruen),
May lead to lawsuits costing California taxpayers.
Despite the opposition, AB 1127 passed the vote overwhelmingly, and the video encourages viewers to voice their opposition before it moves further. The host warns that California's actions often set a precedent for other states.

Maybe this is why Glock is discontinuing there GLOCK CA Compliant models?

My FIL has the compact size 45GAP
We've only found 1 b&m store that carried it around here.
Surprised it had any support at all, 357Sig was hard to find, 45GAP makes 357 look plentiful

    Yep.

    .357 and .40 are - or are quickly becoming - has-beens. But .45 GAP is a never-was.

Even at its height (and I use that term very loosely) .45 GAP ammo was hard to find.

There were basically fewer than 10 or so pistols ever produced in .45 GAP, including 3 Glock models, 3 Springfield XD models, and a couple Para 1911 models. None of which were strong sellers. LE adoption, which was Glock's primary aim with .45 GAP's introduction, was never more than a small handful of agencies, and even those has to be basically bought via bribery overly generous pricing for the guns/ammo and buybacks of their existing guns.

It was just a dud caliber from the word go.

I suspect they'll be rereleased as MOS models, unless they're just going to wait on the Gen 6 versions.

There have been photos of possible gen6 drawings where the 2/3 bottom of the grip is removable.

I was hoping for a gen5 compact .45 with a slim slide but that's never happening.

Maybe trying to mainstream the COA footprint before Gen 6 drops so they can have a unified release.

Interesting, never knew there were non-Glock options in 45GAP.

I was hoping to pick up a G-23 Gen 5 in the future. Guess I'm out of luck.

Why? There's about 300 of them on gunbroker right now. They'll be available on the secondary market for years.

I was thinking that, too. They will probably be available on the used market indefinitely, and since they're 40 caliber, not overly expensive. I just prefer buying new.

I give the Democrats/Liberals/Communists some credit for coming up with that one. Any semi auto “can” be converted to full auto. Remove the disconnector. Tinker with some internals. Have the state Police armorers tinker with a 1911, show it can be converted to a machine gun, boom, another gun banned. With very little work, every semi auto can be deemed “capable of being converted into a machine gun.”

And, of course, that is their ultimate goal.
