Neither Timney nor Glock is going to answer that question, so we won't know. I will say that I cannot think of a single instance of Glock infringing upon patents, though it's possible. As I've said, the biggest variable by far from Glock to Glock is the trigger pull characteristics. I think the GPT is the best thing ever to happen to Glock triggers. When the next generation of Glocks come out I'd love to see the GPT as standard equipment, but I can see the lawyers stepping in and grumbling about "liability". Whether or not Glock should pay or will pay Timney matters not to me, just as long as this assembly remains available.

I've been happily using the Timney glock trigger. It sounds like the new glock performance trigger has similar design elements? Has anybody used both? Any thoughts on quality, safety, reliability, performance between the two? Indifferent outside of price? Or does one standout over the other? I can't get gen5's so kind of academic. Just curious. I've not tried the Timney, but I hear that the trigger return spring can be difficult to reinstall.

So, Glock recommends clean and lube the GPT more often than their normal triggers. Area you guys using a grease or oil for this? https://us.glock.com/en/-/medi...ation-PDF-42623.ashx

I plan on using regular break free clp since it's what we have at work. I only plan on doing that every 4th month since that's my normal cleaning routine on my duty gun. Will do the same for my off duty 45 with the GPT. Not minority enough!

What I always use- a combination of SLIP2000 EWL and EWG mixed together, to a consistency of a thick oil. It stays put.

Thanks Para, I use SLIP 2000 EWL, but I have never mixed it with their grease. Good idea. I have had good luck with this product. https://geissele.com/alg-go-ju...hin-grease-4-oz.html I think that I will still clean and lube after every range/competition session.

I just installed the GPT on my G45 and I do like the weight of the trigger pull. But, it does have a weak trigger reset. Dry fire only at this point. Will this work itself out during live fire? Any other suggestions to fix this?

I wanted to post an update since it’s been awhile. Long story short- I’ve grown to love the GPT, and I even put it my carry gun. The GPT plus a red dot have allowed me to greatly increase my speed and accuracy, so I’m a fan.

I have been changing connectors on my GPT by using the hole on the reverse side of the housing. Saw a Youtube video on this technique. Seems a snap. Anyway on my RANGE Gen 5 34 and 19 I installed a JG 4.5 Connectors in both, with all parts highly polished. No trigger gauge, but feeling like 3LBs. Again, Range guns only.

I’m being told by my Glock Armory instructor that the newer performance triggers are being sold with the plain no markings 5.0 connector. The original performance triggers had the dot connector installed. This is to meet the NIJ standards of 4.5 lb Trigger weight. I was told a simple change of the dot connector to the standard connector with no markings will make it the same as the new version performance triggers being sold. No longer small print on packaging will not meet NIJ standards. All gen 5 come with the dot connector as standard. So I was unable to switch out connectors. I had to order a standard no markings connector elsewhere. _______________ NRA Life Member

Yesterday, I installed the Ghost Performance 3.0 connector on my G45 with the GPT. Shot steel challenge with it today. Much better feeling trigger. Without a gauge, it did feel a tad lighter.

I did this last year when I got my GPTs. In my duty gun and off duty gun. I liked the feel of the "wall" better with the plain connector. Not minority enough!

Once again, Glock demonstrates the vagueness of the weight ratings they assign their connectors. The standard, unmarked connector has long been rated at 5.5 pounds. The dot connector has been rated at 5 pounds. At various times, and depending upon what suited Glock at the moment, the minus connector has been rated at either 3.5 or 4.5 pounds. In my GPTs, I changed out the supplied dot connectors because I felt that the break was a bit too light, not enough wall. The plus connectors proved a bit too too heavy. The standard, unmarked connector proved to be just right for me in the GPT.

Glock has made a couple of changes to the GPT and part #70272 has been superseded by part #74332 Glock Performance Trigger #74332 "The GLOCK Performance Trigger meets the criteria for those looking for an enhanced trigger pull and ergonomics, all while utilizing a flat-faced trigger and maintaining the same safety features of the GLOCK Safe Action System. The GLOCK Performance Trigger is now compatible with 9mm Gen4 pistols. A Gen5 slide cover plate now ships with all GLOCK Performance Triggers, as an included replacement for Gen4 models that ensures compatibility and proper function. The GLOCK Performance Trigger will not come installed on any factory models. It is available as an accessory only and must be installed by a certified GLOCK Armorer. GLOCK does not recommend any aftermarket modifications to the GLOCK Performance Trigger. Trigger Pull Weight: ∼ 5lbs. Fits: Gen4 and Gen5 models G26, G19, G17, G34 and models G19X, G45, G47" Unless I'm missing something, the changes Glock has made won't affect me. If you look at a photo of the new version of the GPT, it doesn't appear that the bottom of the trigger mechanism housing has been changed. I do note, however, what appears to be stippling on the rear of the trigger bar, perhaps as a measure to reduce friction between the frame and the trigger bar. The original version of the GPT has a rating of 4 pounds and the packaging has a warning stating "Does not meet NIJ Standard for LE use". That warning is absent from the packaging of the new version of the GPT. So, for me: I don't own any gen4 Glocks, I've already changed out to the standard unmarked connectors, and I've replaced the GPT trigger shoe with the Johnny Glocks JG-Vex shoe. However, your mileage may vary.
