I opened a Federal 550 round Value Pack and got a surprise. About half of the rounds are Remington Golden Bullets and the rest appear to be Federal. I have no idea as to how long I have had the box, but the sticker says I paid $9.00 for it. Must have been from when they merged?

I think you ae correct and I made the error. I carry my .22's in a Crown Royal bag in my shooting box. It must have had some Remington ammo in it and I then added Federals from the newly opened box.

Thanks for reporting that. In this case it was hardly a critical issue, but mistaken claims are often repeated and become Internet lore that refuses to die. When people are open enough to say, “I may have made a mistake,” we all benefit. ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz

Years ago I popped open a 500 round brick of Wolf MT. Inside were ten 50 round boxes of SK Standard Plus. At that time, Wolf 22lr ammo was manufactured by SK, and I guess they cut some corners and just went with the as shipped packaging. _____________________________ 'I'm pretty fly for a white guy'.
