Originally posted by Kurtz: I have been following these posts and seeing how quickly the approval times have been. Curious, I just called my LGS to find out when he submitted my paperwork, etc. for the three suppressors I purchased (everything was properly provided to my LGS in late January). My LGS just informed me that he had "some issues on his end" with my and another customer's submissions that "got returned for corrections on his end" that were 100% his fault. I would be grateful for any insight anyone could provide me for when a Dealer makes mistakes/needs to make corrections. Thank you SF
I haven’t heard of the ATF returning submissions for “corrections” in recent times. They usually just disapprove them for errors and they have to be resubmitted. I think you need a lot more info from your dealer about exactly what happened and what issues and errors needed to be “corrected”.
For Form 4s, you’re pretty much at the mercy of the dealer, since they are responsible for submitting the paperwork and ensuring it’s correct. The ATF isn’t going to help. Your only options are to either hope your dealer gets it together, or try and get your items transferred to another more competent dealer.

Form 4 processing times are vastly different than Form 1 times. I’m still waiting for a Form 1 submitted on 1/30. The current average for Form 1 seems to be about 45 days from what I’ve seen.

My first can. Walked into my LGS afternoon on 3/10, got my approval this morning 3/13. I wasn't expecting it to go that fast since I did't even have an eform's account when I walked in.

So my form 1 for an SBS was dropped on 04JAN then disapproved on 11FEB.
Been playing games with the place who did my prints and couldn’t get a real person on the phone or online.
So I got in the truck today and drove 1.5 hours and knocked on the door. It’s a secure building so I couldn’t go in-they make, stock and distribute silencers. Nice Cuban woman came out and told me to file an email to customer support-when I explained I couldn’t get thru the AI they use, she took my info and told me she’d walk it to the guys in service. By the time I got home had an email with a new form 1 that was fixed and ready to drop to the ATF. I’d like to think that my rizzing her up about being from Miami and I was from Tampa and we had some common background helped-it could be she’s just a nice person.
Now I wait again.
