To Do What is Right and Just |
Looking for ideas and options for a folding knife. A friend of mine is looking for a gift for his father. Only real requirements are made in the US, and should be a folder whose style is that of a gentlemens knife. Price range preferably under 300. *Edit* Forgot to add, if possible wood or stag handle/scales preferred. I originally suggested Fallkniven and Lion Steel until I knew of the US made part. Chris Reeves is a possibility, but a bit above the desired price range. So, I'm asking you all, any suggestions? Thank you all in advance. This message has been edited. Last edited by: smpsmp,

I just ordered a CRKT Redemption folder. It is designed by Ken Onion based on his Deadman's Hand custom model. it is manufactured by Hogue in the USA. It's a classy looking large knife. It has a 4 inch + blade. I believe they also make a smaller version.

Appreciate it. I'll pass it along to him. I did make an edit since I forgot to put wood or stag preferred, but not a complete necessity. Side note, I personally really like that knife. If I didn't have a microtech already thats thin and easy to carry I'd consider that for myself.

Consider looking on Blade Forums, Folding Knives For Sale - Individual. I just looked and there are few very nice, American Made, knives on there. I especially liked the David Boye Colbalt Folder. "Nature scares me" a quote by my friend Bob after a rough day at sea.

Have you considered an American Made Case? I bought my dad a Sodbuster and he really liked it. In fact I bought me one. Both my grandfathers carried Case knives for most of their lives. Their preferred models were ones with two blades and some type stag type handles. USA made of course

Old Timer has some pretty nice looking offerings. Best I can tell they are still made here and well below your $300 mark. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.
