Looking for a Folder
Looking for ideas and options for a folding knife. A friend of mine is looking for a gift for his father. Only real requirements are made in the US, and should be a folder whose style is that of a gentlemens knife. Price range preferably under 300. *Edit* Forgot to add, if possible wood or stag handle/scales preferred.

I originally suggested Fallkniven and Lion Steel until I knew of the US made part. Chris Reeves is a possibility, but a bit above the desired price range.

So, I'm asking you all, any suggestions?

Thank you all in advance.

I just ordered a CRKT Redemption folder. It is designed by Ken Onion based on his Deadman's Hand custom model. it is manufactured by Hogue in the USA. It's a classy looking large knife. It has a 4 inch + blade. I believe they also make a smaller version.

Appreciate it. I'll pass it along to him. I did make an edit since I forgot to put wood or stag preferred, but not a complete necessity.

Side note, I personally really like that knife. If I didn't have a microtech already thats thin and easy to carry I'd consider that for myself.

Consider looking on Blade Forums, Folding Knives For Sale - Individual. I just looked and there are few very nice, American Made, knives on there. I especially liked the David Boye Colbalt Folder.

Have you considered an American Made Case?

I bought my dad a Sodbuster and he really liked it. In fact I bought me one.

Both my grandfathers carried Case knives for most of their lives. Their preferred models were ones with two blades and some type stag type handles.

USA made of course

Old Timer has some pretty nice looking offerings. Best I can tell they are still made here and well below your $300 mark.

Emmerson knives are great blades, a little more on the Tactical side.

What about an old school Buck 110? Can't really go wrong with one of those.

Case is another perfect Gentleman's knife

Boker, Gerber, Kershaw all have US made knives as well.

Appreciate it all. I had suggested an Emerson a100 mini, but lack of scale options and general unavailability at the moment nixed the idea. Fallkniven out since not US made, and think it's settled on a mini bug out with wood scales from another maker. A little bigger than originally wanted, but fits the use and need for his dad.

Their Generational series is made in the US and is very reasonably priced. The rest are still made overseas.

It sounds like you found something but I was going to suggest a Texas Jack pattern from GEC

Consider something from the Buck knife custom shop.

I’ve carried an Emerson cqc7 of some sort for 20 plus years and they have served me well, good customer service and American made. I did just order a 110 from Bucks custom shop with stag grips etc, I always wanted one so I went for it. Have not received it yet so can’t comment on quality fit, finish etc but it sure looked good on the build sheet.
