As long as he hires folks with legal status and proper work authorization, I could care less who it is. But I would think that he, as CEO of a public company, would be more interested in hiring people without regard to anything other than their competence and passion than in making a political statement. But that's just how I run my businesses.

At least that will be 10,000 fewer refugees I have to fully support with my tax money. And since I could not even tell you the last time I drank anything from Starbucks I won't support them that way either. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

Has Starbucks built any locations in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, or Somalia? No? How about Germany? Yup, they have locations there. How many refugees from any of the above listed countries has Starbucks hired for their locations in Germany? Serious questions, and I will not make assumptions. Additional information from a press release updated August 2014.
Guess the above as changed. Also...

^^^ This for sure. I don't like their coffee, but will occasionally stop in. But I will go out of my way to avoid them from now on. Not because refugees don't need a job, but for this politicizing statement and taking sides against the American people. I like Coffe Bean and Tea Leaf better anyway.

I love Starbucks coffee and a cup from Dunkin Donuts costs the same around here. And I am hardly a liberal or a snowflake. But I bought my last cup of Starbucks at 1730 today. No more Starbucks in my house. And that includes the coffee they sell under the Kirkland brand name at Costco.

I'll stay with Aroma Joe's here in NH. Even the Irving coffee is just as good. I'm not drinking the fat filled six dollar cup of coffee. So does that comment mean that they WON'T hire legal US residents? Will they wait at the border handing out applications?

Starbucks is actually very good coffee. However, I typically get Americanos, but I do like their regular coffee as well. I can't stand Starbucks coffee, gives me the running shits just like Indian curry, but I don't object to stopping there with my girlfriend so she can get a cup since they stayed out of politics over the 2A issue. Next time I'll suggest it's time to try Caribou Coffee down the block from Starbucks, and get some for myself as well. As an aside, I dated a Moslem girl while in college many years ago, and I believe Moslems are forbidden from drinking coffee as well as carbonated drinks and alcohol. Starbuck's 10,000 refugee employees will more than likely piss in the customers' cups. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

I have no problem with them hiring refugees in other countries. It makes them less likely to become our problem here. As far as the US, I also have no problem with them hiring refugees who meet the criteria listed.

Agreed. I could care less whom they hire, as long as they're legal and willing to put in a honest day's work. However, polarizing this only forces the issue and causes people to take sides. Anyways, I'm more apt to support a privately owned, single-door coffee shop than a multinational chain any day.

I dunno about that. In every SBUX I walk into, the clientele look much more like the top photo. And they're probably happy as clams with SBUX hiring refugees.

Did your lips have a brown stain? We had guy at the last place I worked that drink coffee all day long and had the brown lips. For what it is worth, I have never been in a Starbucks. Maybe I should make a visit and torment them. 41 41
