I was a big fan of the earlier episodes of "Happy Days" as a kid, and Joanie could be a funny smart-aleck sister. Unfortunately, Erin had a lot of troubles through the years after her "Joanie Loves Chachi" days. RIP, Erin.

These are the individuals that Hollywood grinds up and spits out. They are flashes in the pan that are here today and gone tomorrow. In a very small way, I know how that feels. It must be difficult to have been and then no more. Seems that is a leveraging factor to the hard life we hear about.
RIP Erin.

Since I heard the news, I have not been able to get this scene out of my head...

RIP. She slipped away into obscurity and a rough life.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Being a child actor is like being an an athlete, one reaches the absolute peak of their lives at a young age, yet 99% of them will see their run last only a few years. Coming back down to Earth and being Joe-Six-Pack is a tough pill to swallow, given their lack of education and being coddled for years. Moran worked in an era when TV salaries were not that supercharged (and residual deals were almost nonexistent), so I can't imagine her banking a whole lotta dough, especially given her limited resume as a bit player on Happy Days, and a one season co star of a long forgotten TV show.
Her story is an all too common one in the entertainment/ sports business.
