Sorry, I'm not buying that. They don't have the toxicology report but they've ruled out narcotics? Nope. Ain't buyin' it.

And I just love it when people start this "Stage" stuff. Ask the average man on the street what the various stages of cancer mean and they won't be able to tell you, so why tell us it's "Stage 4 cancer"? It sounds dramatic but means nothing to the overwhelming majority of the population.

The same thing happened when some comedian made fun of a guy with a funny haircut. His sister defended him, but instead of saying "Look, he has an odd haircut because he's in treatment for brain cancer.". Instead, she said "HE'S GOT STAGE 4 BRAIN CANCER!!!"

^^^^

I don't think they ruled it out, only said that no illegal narcotics were found at the scene. Could have been OD on meds for which she had Rx.

Yes, it's so unusual for a drug dealer to sell you Xanax or Hydrocodone and to not include the correct prescription bottle.

A suicide would consume all the pills they have left. Why wouldn't they? So, no bottles or packaging (because there never was any packaging), and no pills (because she ate them all). It's a puzzler, ain't it?

Her life was shit, she was damn near homeless, wouldn't accept the help being offered to her, and she was- apparently- terminally ill. That's a recipe for suicide.

Screw cancer.

While the result is still the same, somehow her dying from cancer is less sad to me than just from drug abuse.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Why? They are both a disease... Confused

Cures for which are often very elusive and nebulous. In fact, I don't think anyone ever is cured of cancer or addiction - only remission.

And she's still dead at 56, no matter how.

In the medical community, stage four cancer is "end stage cancer". There is no stage five.

I understand that many people don't know what the stages of cancer are. I didn't know myself, until I was diagnosed with it 2 yrs ago. I guess people throw in the "Stage 4" stuff to indicate the severity of it. I was 'lucky,' in that I only had Stage 1, and it was only Thyroid Cancer (all cancer sucks, but I was REALLY relieved that it was not one of the nastier varieties).

So, saying you have Stage 4 indicates a much greater severity than Stage 1. And to those with cancer, or with loved ones with cancer, the stage number is VERY important.

But, yeah, they can just leave off the stages, as practically all cancer cases deadly without treatment.

I don't know much about Ms Moran except from what I saw on Happy Days. This case just emphasizes my conviction that 'stardom' is a curse for many people, as many people are incapable of handling the fame and fortune. They even have a phenomenon where 27yrs old seems to be the magic number where these people self-destruct (From Wiki: Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison all died at the age of 27 between 1969 and 1971. At the time, the coincidence gave rise to some comment, but it was not until the death of Kurt Cobain, about two and a half decades later, that the idea of a "27 Club" began to catch on in public perception).

Regardless of the cause, 56 is WAY too young to go. I hope she finds peace wherever she is now.
