Maybe I'll be the first to say it, but McDonalds coffee isn't too bad, especially when on the road.

Whole bean
Ground as/how much needed in a burr grinder
Not particular about brand, look more for price
Light roast, aka breakfast blend, preferred
Bottled spring water
Did use a percolator, but have switched to a French press (got a small one for $5)

I drink coffee every day. I use the store brand 1/2 caffeine 1/2 regular. Tastes great and I make it fairly strong. Guests are quite surprised when I show them the can.

Every morning my wife and I split a pot of Cafe Bustelo. It’s pretty strong. Occasionally I will use the Keurig for cafe con leche.

Have you tried Costco's Kirkland Signature Pacific Bold K-cups? It's a strong dark roast. Actually Green Mountain, re-branded for Costco.

Not too expensive, we buy five cases when it's on sale. Comes out to around 30¢ / cup.

We don't have a Costco membership, so I haven't tried them. The issue is that there is not enough grounds for the amount of water to make it strong enough. Mind you, this is coming from someone that, for over a decade, drank an entire 6-cup espresso pot for their morning mug of coffee. I've tapered off a bit since then. Smile

That’s a LOT of caffeine in your coffee.

He probably relaxes with a martini that's 1/2 alcohol, 1/2 vodka.

Bout the only setup I don't have is the hot sand apparatus for making Turkish coffee. Lately have been making Vietnamese coffee with robusto beans. Nom.

Wish I had time to roast.

Daily pot is Independence Coffee Breakfast Blend through the Moccamaster. Excellent.

Folgers Classic Roast, brewed strong from my ancient Krups Aromamaster drip pot every morning.

I'm not a coffee snob but I loath crappy coffee.

We discovered Mountain Thunder Hawaiian coffee around 10-15 years ago while on a trip there. Stupid expensive, but for a couple of years we ordered beans and brewed it at home. Something happened to the company and it became unavailable. When it resurfaced, it wasn’t the same. Since then, we buy Dunkin whole beans.

We brew in a 14 cup cuisinart drip pot. 3g of ground coffee per cup. I know it’s frowned upon, but I grind the beans the night before and set the timer so it is ready when I get up.

I buy beans from a coffee shop close by that roasts their own. Fresh grind and brew in a Moccamaster drip machine. I have a portable espresso maker that I brew with on occasion as well.

Big can of Chock Full O' Nuts is the go to.

Else I grind beans in a conical burr Virtuoso and dwell on a Sumatra roast from various sources and Peets Major Dickenson

Eight O'Clock Dark Italian Expresso in a 5 cup Mr. Coffee. 2 pots in the AM. Sometimes pre-ground, sometimes whole bean and ground at home. Depends what's on the shelf but there is never a variation on brand.

My wife and I are not coffee snobs but we each have our "coffee ritual"

I like Peet's Major Dickason's whole bean. I grind what I need for a French Press in a burr grinder. Filtered water in the pot heated to 203 degrees and steeped for 5 minutes in the press. I drink my coffee without any accouterments.

My wife does a pour over. She is fond of beans from a local roaster. She grinds the beans in a burr grinder (separate from mine). She has a special pot with a thermometer and a pour over carafe. Jane drinks her coffee with 1/2 and 1/2 .

BTW, we are retired. Coffee in the morning has been a long standing tradition for both of us. Yes, we may be persnickety about the ritual but I am sitting at my desk in the cool quiet of the morning enjoying my coffee. It's the little things in life we need to celebrate.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?
