Got an email from Navy Federal Credit Union a couple of hours ago informing me ...

Your Refund or Stimulus Funds Are on Their Way

Your tax refund or COVID-19 stimulus for $1400.00 will deposit to your account ending in X706 on Mar. 17, 2021.

All NFCU checking accounts end in 706. The fact NFCU doesn't know if it's a refund or COVID-19 stimulus simply means that it's a direct deposit from the IRS.
I've already gotten my tax refund, so this is the Covid stimulus ... how many 9mm boolets can I get?

Last time I bought 9mm, $1400 would buy 5000 rounds. I knew the bargain when I saw it and stacked deep.

Today’s prices, you’d be lucky to get 2000 rounds assuming you can even find it for sale.

I’m all set for at least 5-8 years on ammo, will be putting Uncle Sugar’s check in the bank.

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

I checked my bank account awhile ago and it shows a pending deposit of $1,400 from the IRS and a date of March 17 for clearing.

How many stimulus threads are we going to have?

There’s like two or three already, can’t we be posting in those?

Clearly it’s time for a dedicated sub-forum.

Well I am not getting anything. The Biden administration's way of saying Thank You. With the other proposals in the works I may qualify for an EBT card.

Just looked at our credit union account, and the monies are pending dated March 17th.

Wonder if something to do with St Patrick's Day ... Smile

I get nothing. I pay Uncle Sam more than many make in a year...I don't mind paying taxes, I just wish he would use it better. Seems to spend like a drunken sailor and on all the wrong things.

Does anyone know if there is a website you can plug in your social security number to see when you get it? I ask as my daughter apparently did this but she did so on someone else's phone at her place of work. She is young and I hope she didn't screw herself over.

The IRS website may have some tools. If the application she used was not part of the IRS website, I would be concerned.

Thanks to changes to the phase out, went from getting something to pennies or nothing. Silly because I lost $20k+ during COVID, more if you count OT.

Wondering if I can dump $10k into 401-k for last year somehow to get back to $150k. Will kill a good amount of savings, but give me an instant 14% return on my money plus whatever the market does.

Ideas for maximizing the best out of a shitty situation? Every man, woman, and baby is in the hook for $5,800 today to maybe get $1,400. It's sad.

We all pay. Some more than others.

I'm comfortable in retirement. I'd get a job if I needed more income and that hasn't happened in 15yrs. I didn't ask for a "stimulus" nor anxiously await it. Didn't know it was on the way until I got the email from NFCU.

Someone mentioned, "yet another stimulus thread" and that took me by surprise because I've paid no attention to stimulus developments. I try to stay out of the political threads ... for the most part. I don't watch news on TV and I don't catch up on online news on a daily basis. Especially not from MSM. Usually winds me up. Even the conservative sites just seem to report on what the democrats are doing ... and that just winds me up.

The U.S. debt worries me. Not only the debt but the precedence this stimulus sets and where I think liberals are headed with it. The fact this stimulus was the doing of a liberal congress in no way, no how, changes my conservative vote now or in the future.

Fact is though, some are struggling to the best of their ability and MAY need a break. My post was simply to let folks know it is on the way. Not to start a political discussion or awaken the forum monitors and forum thread score keepers.

My thoughts exactly..
Y'all can thank those of us that didn't get it, for financing the money you did get.
You got some of your tax dollars back, along with the money I paid in that I didn't get back..
So punish me for making more than you did.. Roll Eyes

You're welcome....
