Sad. What a good guy.

When we lose a member I often go back and scroll through some of their post history.

Jim posted about the death of an author I enjoyed (Nelson DeMille) and I was not aware of his passing. He wrote a book titled Night Falls that I really enjoyed, and this weekend am going to reread. It will remind of Jim as I do.

I only knew him from SigForum, but at one time we were semi-neighbors, before I was on SigForum. He lived in the same area of Richmond, VA as I did, locally known as "The Fan".

I do remember his love of a special BLT sandwich made with Hanover tomatoes. Those tomatoes only grow in the Hanover region of VA.

RIP, Jim!

I've met quite a few of y'all in real life, and Jim was someone I regret not having met. God speed to one of the good ones.

Will say a prayer and lift a glass to Jim. Our time here is fleeting, so make as much of it while you can. I am failing heading my own advice. But I know it and strive to do better.

Rest in peace Jim Shugart. You will be missed and you are remembered.

My safe has an envelope with log in information for various forums I'm on. She is supposed to post on them and notify the members. I'm not that active here, but I've been around a while. Other forums I'm more active on would definitely notice I wasn't around.

I have several friends, as in folks I have met, that are on the various forums, I am on,

they would surely let the world know if anyone cared,

somewhat related, I met a fellow Gunboards Minefielder and SOS in 2024, cpw was an older guy but seemed to be in good health,

lost contact with him for a bit (he was not posting) so I texted him and got a reply from his Daughter, he had passed a week or so before,

she had not idea what he was doing, internet wise,

Sad to hear about his passing.

One of the Shugartisms I find myself repeating, "if it's strong enough to cause an action, it's strong enough to cause a reaction." Jim ever the wise pharmacist posted that in a thread about alternative/natural remedies when someone postured they don't have risks/side effects.
