The oil of Iran is medium-to-light and sour. The enviornment can recover from spills in the strait within several weeks to a month or so. Or people can hand ring, pearl clutch and get their panties in a twist. The greater threat and long term damage is from the GD Iranian terrorists. How may times do we need to repeat the lesson? The "imminent fear" (emotion) vs the long term consequences of reacting to the former, give the latter greater likelihood of injury and damage. The effects of nearly a year of over 700 oil wells destroyed and spilling up to 40 million barrels in the desert and 11 million in the gulf, and the natural recovery was about 10 years. And that was about 1.5 billion barrels total spilled. Nature is tougher than we think we are. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא עוד

https://www.theepochtimes.com/...7OycyCYNnnDooh5Ak%3D Trump Calls Iran’s Response to Peace Proposal ‘Totally Unacceptable’ A significant point of disagreement remains over the control of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. President Donald Trump on May 10 rejected Iran’s response to the latest peace proposal pitched by the United States. “I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives.’ I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Sunday. Trump’s reaction was shared on social media hours after Iran submitted its official reply to the latest proposal that aimed to permanently end the war between the two countries, which started on Feb. 28. The Epoch Times reached out to the White House for further comment but didn’t immediately receive a response. The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the Iranian regime’s state-run news agency, said that current negotiations should focus exclusively on the cessation of hostilities in the region, and other issues, including Iran’s nuclear program, should be discussed later. Iran’s response is focused on efforts to end the aggression on all fronts, including Israeli attacks on Lebanon, and to guarantee the security of shipping in the Persian Gulf, according to Iran’s state TV. A significant point of disagreement remains over the control of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s state TV said the strait has been under Iranian control since the early days of the war. Iran’s state TV said the country has indicated it is ready to reopen the strait if the war ends permanently and the United States lifts its sanctions and naval blockade. The first phase of peace negotiations “must concentrate on shipping and sanctions, while signaling they are ready to discuss the country’s nuclear program in later stages of the talks with the U.S.,” Iran said according to the IRNA. Pakistan brokered a ceasefire between Iran and the United States that stopped nearly 40 days of warfare, according to IRNA. President Donald Trump addressed Iran in a Sunday post on Truth Social. “Iran has been playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World, for 47 years (DELAY, DELAY, DELAY!),” Trump wrote. “For 47 years the Iranians have been ’tapping' us along, keeping us waiting, killing our people with their roadside bombs, destroying protests, and recently wiping out 42,000 innocent, unarmed protestors, and laughing at our now GREAT AGAIN Country. They will be laughing no longer!” The report of the Iranian response followed news that a Qatari natural gas tanker crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, marking the first time since the start of the war that a Qatari liquified natural gas tanker had transited the strait. The tanker is en route to Pakistan, according to LSEG shipping data. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy routes, carrying about 25 percent of the world’s seaborne oil trade. A Qatari tanker getting through after weeks of disruptions suggests Iran may be allowing limited passage, which could signal early diplomatic progress or at least a temporary easing of tensions. The United Kingdom stated Saturday it was deploying the HMS Dragon, a destroyer, to the Strait of Hormuz. The HMS Dragon was previously in the Eastern Mediterranean in March, and its move to the Middle East follows France’s deployment of a carrier strike group to the Red Sea as Britain and France join forces to protect the vital trade route. The Kuwait army posted on Sunday on X that it detected hostile drones in its airspace. The spokesperson for the Kuwait Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, stated that the armed forces detected at dawn a number of hostile drones within its airspace. The Kuwait army said the hostile drones were dealt with in accordance with established procedures. The United States and Iran have maintained an uneasy ceasefire since April 7. The United States has maintained a blockade of Iranian ports since April 13.

From the above article: "The United Kingdom stated Saturday it was deploying the HMS Dragon, a destroyer, to the Strait of Hormuz. The HMS Dragon was previously in the Eastern Mediterranean in March, and its move to the Middle East follows France’s deployment of a carrier strike group to the Red Sea as Britain and France join forces to protect the vital trade route." A little late, but it's something. I'm not defending European NATO countries.

If things heat up again, which they will. I would be betting on both france and gb adding and abetting the enemy. Sure Trump does not see either as and alley. I don't. Not even a little bit. I have zero trust in either. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Thanks for this I didn’t know. Glad to get some help, that being said I’m still salty over that coward Starmer not backing us along with France and Italy. I’m at the point I think we need to resume bombing the crap out of them.

From today's news, Iran wants full control over their uranium/plutonium program and the money coming in from oil. Is there any serious doubt that this wouldn't be their bottom line? I truly believe that if they develop or acquire a nuclear weapon and the ability to deliver it, they will send one to Israel in the name of Allah. No doubt at all.

And also to control and toll shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, right? No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

US and Israel need to go medieval on all of the bad guys, and smoke them all. Then whatever is left over will decide how things go. If they pull out now, when the bad guys come back they will be more evil, nasty, and more ruthless than before. If it's gonna be bad either way, by not finishing it, they will rise again sooner. So the only thing to lose is not getting the job done while you're in the middle of it. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

Gen Keane believes this but also respects POTUS's situation, and reservedly defers to Trump's judgement on it, but I would prefer to follow Keane's advice on finishing the job and complete the original punch list, and team up with Mossad and the CIA to do what they do best. I personally will be very disappointed if Trump stops--or forces the Israelis to stop--without finishing the IRGC. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

They really need to build a canal, bypassing the strait. This would never be an issue again. There have been proposals before. Maybe now they'll just make it happen. And I think we need to take Karg Island. Tony. Owner, TonyBen, LLC, Type-07 FFL www.tonybenm14.com (Site under construction). e-mail: tonyben@tonybenm14.com

I watched an interesting FB video today (sorry, can't find it in Twitter so I can embed) that is titled, "The 1,300 km Bridge that Bypassed the Hormuz Trap" For those who don't have FB, the summary is Iran's neighbors are partially done doing the next best thing to building a canal: That leaves Qatar and Bahrain potentially screwed. They need Saudi help to bypass the Strait. EDIT: I found a 8.5x longer version of it on YT: Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity DISCLAIMER: These are the author's own personal views and do not represent the views of the author's employer.
