U.S. President Donald Trump:

"Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. A relatively small section of the whole has been hit. The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen. Unfortunately, Iran did not know this, or any of the pertinent facts pertaining to the South Pars attack, and unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a portion of Qatar’s LNG Gas facility. NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar - In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before. I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar’s LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so."

I don't understand why the Russians are supplying the Iranians with intel and equipment given the lengths we have gone to (post-Buden) to undermine the Ukrainians and NATO. Seems really short-sighted of them to piss off Trump just for a few months of high oil revenues.

Trump Eyes Kharg Island Seizure to Reopen Hormuz

President Donald Trump reportedly is weighing a strategy to counter Iran's chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz, including the possible seizure or blockade of Kharg Island, a key hub for Iran's oil exports.

The move, detailed by Axios, underscores the administration's effort to restore stability to global energy markets after Tehran's actions sent oil prices above $100 a barrel and disrupted a key maritime route that carries roughly 20% of the world's oil supply.

Kharg Island, located just miles off Iran's coast, handles about 90% of the country's crude exports, making it a critical pressure point.

Administration officials say no final decision has been made, but options on the table range from a naval blockade to a full-scale operation involving U.S. troops.

"He wants Hormuz open," one senior official told Axios. "If he has to take Kharg Island to make it happen, that's going to happen."

The U.S. military has already taken steps to prepare the battlefield.

Recent airstrikes targeted Iranian military assets on the island, deliberately avoiding key oil infrastructure — a signal, officials say, that Washington is preserving leverage while reducing Tehran's capabilities.

Reinforcements are also on the way, with multiple Marine units deploying to the region and additional forces under consideration.

The buildup reflects a broader strategy to give the president a range of options as he seeks to force Iran back to the negotiating table.

Supporters of a tougher approach argue that decisive measures are necessary to end Iran's actions in the region.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said Trump has been "prudent" in keeping all options open, noting the administration has "mountains of plans" to respond to Iran's escalation.

Other Republicans have gone further, with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., urging the president to "take Kharg Island," arguing it would cripple the country's primary revenue source and hasten the end of the conflict.

Critics, however, warn of risks.

Analysts cited by The Hill and Politico say any ground operation could expose U.S. forces to attack and escalate the conflict.

Iran could retaliate against regional energy infrastructure, tightening global supply and driving prices higher.

Still, some experts say a blockade — similar to U.S. actions in Venezuela — could achieve many of the same goals with less risk by preventing tankers from accessing Iranian oil without deploying large numbers of U.S. troops.

The stakes are high. Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz is widely viewed as an act of desperation but has had real consequences for U.S. consumers and allies.

The administration has framed its strategy as short-term pain for long-term stability and a necessary stand against a regime that has long threatened global commerce.

Additional Ships, Marines Deploying to Middle East

The U.S. military has accelerated the deployment of thousands of Marines and sailors to help reinforce its troops fighting against Iran, officials tell Newsmax.

Four officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, say the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are deploying ahead of schedule from the West Coast.

They are expected to sail through the Indo-Pacific to the Middle East region after the Navy was ordered to heighten its posture with additional firepower.

The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group includes the USS Boxer amphibious assault ship along with the USS Portland and USS Comstock amphibious transport dock ships.

There are 2,500 Marines, bringing the total to about 4,000 total service members aboard these three amphibious craft. They are equipped with F-35 fighter jets, missiles, and amphibious vehicles capable of launching from the ships to carry out a land assault.

Officials say the sailors and Marines shortened their leave period after completing their certification and training to accelerate their deployment.

The Boxer will join the USS Tripoli amphibious assault ship already underway to the Middle East. Both can launch Rolling Airframe and Sea Sparrow missiles in addition to carrying F-35 Lightnings, AV-8 Harriers, tilt-rotor Ospreys as well as a variety of Viper, Venon, Knighthawk, and Stallion helicopters.

The ships that will deploy to the region with USS Tripoli have not been previously reported, but multiple officials tell Newsmax they will be joined by the cruiser the USS New Orleans in the short term.

Amphibious Ready Groups travel in teams of three, and these two initially sailed with USS San Diego amphibious transport dock in the Philippine Sea.

The San Diego will hang back in the Pacific region for maintenance, Newsmax was told, with one official explaining that the Japan-based USS Rushmore amphibious dock is expected to join the pair in the Middle East.

Six amphibious ships will add about 8,000 service members in the region, including 4,000-5,000 Marines.

The news of these additional troops comes as speculation continues to swirl over whether the U.S. will try to capture Iranian islands critical to Tehran’s oil industry.

It also comes as the USS Ford aircraft carrier was pulled from the region for repairs after a fire broke out in the ship’s laundry area.

Trump Says He’s Considering ‘Winding Down’ Iran Operation

The president wrote on Truth Social that the United States is ’very close to meeting our military objectives.’

President Donald Trump on Friday signaled that an end to the Iran war is fast approaching.

“We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
He listed five objectives that are nearing completion, including the degradation of Iran’s missile systems, the destruction of the nation’s defense production, the elimination of its Navy and Air Force, preventing the regime from obtaining nuclear weapons, and protecting neighboring countries, including Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and others.

The president said assistance from allies will be needed to protect the Strait of Hormuz after the United States departs.

“The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not!” Trump wrote. “If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated.”

The president said that protecting the shipping lane, vital to the globe’s energy supply, would amount to “an easy military operation.”

Trump told an audience in the White House earlier in the day that Operation Epic Fury, launched on Feb. 28, is a resounding success.

“We’re doing extremely well in Iran,” Trump said. “They have no Navy anymore ... and we have the greatest Navy anywhere in the world, and it’s not even close.”

Joint Israeli and U.S. operations have eliminated Iran’s Navy, Air Force, radar, and anti-aircraft defense systems.

“Their leaders are all gone,” Trump said. “The next set of leaders are all gone, and the next set of leaders are mostly gone, and now nobody wants to be a leader over there anymore.”

“Even now, over the past few weeks, the world has seen the true strength and might of our sailors and aviators as they fought in one of the most complex and successful military operations of all time against the Iranian regime.”

This is a breaking story and will be updated.

I hope Trump does wind down operations and does not put our Marines in harms way on any of those islands. I feel they would be sitting ducks.
Maybe Lindsey Graham and his children should lead our troops on shore and occupy this territory.
If we occupy the island I think the Iranians will blow the entire place up into a inferno as a last ditch effort to bring us large casualties.

The destruction or capture of the uranium supply is imperative. A low-yield device, attached to an 800+ pound bunker buster would do it! It would be a radio active glassine pit.

Otherwise strictly my opinion, boots on the ground Will be required. Likely a joint Mission involving Israel Special Forces and US Marines.

Senator Lindsey Graham is not married and does not have any children … and as far as I can tell he’s as queer as a $3 bill.

You really should accept the fact that the Russians are not our friend.

Funny, the same thing can be said about the other unexpected allies that stepped up while the EU have cowarded out.

I'm glad to hear this.
We may feel bad for the people of Iran, but there's' not much we can do to facilitate "regime change" and a better life for them. They will have to rise up and somehow defeat the (now weakened) IRGC on their own.

I hope he doesn't decide to take Kharg Island.
It's time to wrap it up and come home.

Iran proved with this attack that they have missiles that can reach beyond the Middle East. Diego Garcia is approx. 4000 km away from Iran's launch point.
