Little ray of sunshine |
I mean this honestly, not in some smart-ass way. If you think that our media is worse than Pravda, and that things are as bad you seem to think that they are, I don't know why you stay. Why do some people get so much . . . satisfaction, I guess, out of being so negative and pessimistic? You do really seem to get a sort of reverse pleasure out of it. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

I hope that you are right on both counts, and that Trump comes out ahead. I've already mailed in my ballot and am tuning out until November 8th.

I don't think any of us get any pleasure from it. Is American MSM Pravda? No quite yet. But they're getting closer and closer every day. It's not negative pessimism, it's acceptance of reality.

I'm sure not happy about it, but unless you see Rush Limbaugh being arrested and Breitbart being shut down at gunpoint, I wouldn't say we're even in the same ballpark as the USSR.

Normality Contraindicated |
Media is power, influence and money. Those seeking the most power and money have long understood the benefit to owning media to drive the power, influence and money their way. Having moved away from reporting news, the media seeks to influence and ultimately control masses. And while that goal stayed hidden for decades, the media today are unapologetic about their mission to influence and control those masses. Media's Use of Propaganda to Persuade People's Attitude, Beliefs and Behaviors Without researching, it would probably be an easy guess as to whether the majority of these media conglomerate owners swung left or right politically. If you have an interest in watching, Trump has just arrived in Lakeland, FL, for the 2nd rally of the day. The first today was in a building with temps around 100 f., so I'm sure The Donald is very happy this one is outdoors next to a hangar at the airport. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2EJMRhvuNQ

Limbaugh has been saying the last couple days that if the left wins this election cycle the next stop for them is him and other conservative news talkers. He has been citing recent comments and editorials by left wing analysts as evidence. A version of the Fairness Doctrine on steroids. They won't be handcuffing anybody as there are others ways of accomplishing the task of silencing the conservative voices. He is brash and braggadocious but he is often with his finger on the pulse of what the left is up to. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

With the censorship + shenanigans on Facebook and Twitter, the collusion of the DNC, msm and hillary's campaign I'd venture Pravda is at least honest in being a known propaganda source for the Russians. Our media still claims to be unbiased, at least publicly. ____________________________________________________ The butcher with the sharpest knife has the warmest heart.

Same way some people get so much...satisfaction, I guess, out of being the contrarian. I agree with justjoe in that our current MSM is worse than Pravda. Pravda was officially seen as the newspaper for the Soviet Communist Party, no illusions about being a free press, freedom of content and thought, etc. Our MSM, a one sided, extremely biased shill for the Democratic Party, is supposed to be part of a free press, an unbiased, objective entity protected by the Constitution, yet is the opposite of this. And the MSM arrogantly sees itself as unbiased, incorruptible by outside influences, and many people believe this. Pravda made no bones about what it was. It's all about the women now. I hope Trump bombards the battleground states with ads which includes all the women who's lives the Klintons have destroyed. Compound that with the mothers of the Benghazi victims. So what if he's crude behind closed doors; at least he's not vindictive and a murderer. Tony. After John McCain's hypocritical withdrawal of support from Trump, along with Sen.Jeff Flake similar response, I felt it was my duty to send them both a "sweet email" the chicken shits!!! I hope all of the Az. GOP folks do the same. McCain is up for re-election in Nov.

"Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.) says she “cannot support” and “will not vote for” Trump. Susan Collins (R., Maine) says she “could not support” Trump. Jeff Flake (R., Ariz.) says Trump “needs to withdraw from the race.” Mark Kirk (R., Ill.) says Trump “should drop out.” John McCain (R., Ariz.) says he “will not vote for” Trump (but will instead “write in the name of some good” Republican, who in McCain’s imagination is running for president). And Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska) says she “cannot and will not support” Trump, who has “has forfeited the right to be our party’s nominee.” All six voted for the Gang of Eight bill. Over in the House, Speaker Paul Ryan has largely withdrawn his support from Trump, saying he’ll no longer campaign for him and will not defend him (although he still endorses him). Now that Marco Rubio has been (partially) chastened, Ryan is perhaps the most prominent and forceful Republican backer of open-borders immigration law ." http://www.lifezette.com/poliz...backed-amnesty-push/ ____________________
