It is interesting to me that USA Today's new Chief Content Editor and Editor in Chief, Joanne Lipman, was formerly from The Wall Street Journal - the same WSJ that told the GOP to dump Trump.

Lipman took over in January of 2016.

Humm, so USA Today breaks with its own tradition to now blare, Never Trump! Is it incest when an editorial idea transplants to an additional helm?

Voters listen less and less to the press for what to do or believe because press ideas about what is important don't match voters' lives.

I really don't understand what it is about Trump's psychology that makes him go off on all these tangents that the Democrats tee up for him. If he could stay on the issues that made him popular, I would have no doubt he would win, but how many news cycles does he need to keep talking about Miss Universe? He came back in the polls when he stayed on message. Now its apparent that the Democrats know exactly how to get under his skin and keep him off message. When he talks about Miss Universe and Rosie O'Donnell or whatever else has his panties in a twist, that means he (and Hillary) are not talking about Immigration, the economy, crime, etc.

I know he doesn't need or want my advice, but damn its frustrating because he doesn't have to lose. He can win this thing easily. But damned if I can figure out what his strategy is.

Countless millions of those who would very much like to see Trump elected agree with you. He does often seem determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. If he could only resist these urges for 39 more days, he could have it all.

Yes. He does seem to get drawn off at times. But, it's hard to know, as you say, why he would do these things.

With the Corey defense, for instance, Trump showed that he will stand by his subordinates. And, with Manafort, he was cut loose quickly. None of us know all the thoughts illuminating Trump's choices. But, he seems to have a good team of advisors.

Despite his seeming detours, he won the primaries and is gaining strength with the voters.

To believe that polls will EVER show Trump way ahead on election day is unrealistic.

Also, to say that if Trump did this or that would put it all away seems unrealistic. If he had beat up on Hillary with so many other retorts, he would have been called a sexist bully for beating up on an old, sick woman who has given so much to her country. There is just no way to avoid the spin on anything he does.

The intelligentsia of know-it-alls in the press and politics have been confounded for Trump's entire run.

So . . . your point is taken but Trump seems, overall, more like the everyman. Voters are not strategizing as much as they are wanting someone who will help them and the country.

Jeb Bush: Not Voting Clinton or Trump Would Send Message

The powerful message being sent by the voters and the public is that the Bush family was rejected and the same thing is going to happen to Hillary. After NAFTA, Bailouts, and wars, why would anyone listen to any message from a Bush? How can a Bush or a Clinton relate to a normal voter in any way? There is zero relationship between the average American voter and the ruling caste like Bush/Clinton/Obama = the three stooges who wrecked the USA.

Americans are never even referred to by Bush/Clinton/Obama= the three stooges who destroyed America. Instead, all they talk about now is illegal aliens and refugees, because those are the only people who might have a shred of belief in the three stooges = Bush/Clinton/Obama.

Commission admits ‘issues’ with Trump audio during debate
The Commission on Presidential Debates released a vague statement on Friday simply saying: “Regarding the first debate, there were issues regarding Donald Trump’s audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall.”

The commission didn’t elaborate any further, but the statement did not indicate that there were any issues with the television feed.

The day after Monday’s debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., Trump said during a “Fox & Friends” interview that he had a “bum mic.”

“I had a problem with a microphone that didn’t work,” Trump said Tuesday. “My microphone was terrible. I wonder, was it set up that way on purpose? My microphone, in the room, they couldn’t hear me. It was going on and off, which isn’t exactly great. I wonder if it was set up that way. But it was terrible. When I tested it, it was beautiful. Like an hour before, I said, ‘What a great mic,’” he said.

Trump also said that his rival, Democrat Hillary Clinton, didn’t have the same issues.
“It was on and off,” he said. “And it was much lower than hers. I don’t want to believe in conspiracy theories, of course, but it was much lower than hers. And it was crackling. And she didn’t have that problem.”

Throughout the debate, Trump could be heard loudly sniffling — and commentary on his breathing dominated the social media conversation about the event. But the sniffling sounds appear unrelated to the debate commission’s statement, which admitted only to “issues” related to sound in the debate hall itself.

“The mic was very bad, but maybe it was good enough to hear breathing,” Trump said Tuesday, insisting “there was no sniffles.”

I searched ebay for Trump hats and Hillary hats. Sales are running about 50:1 for Trump. Interesting way to forecast an election. I will sleep better tonight, realizing that our future is not bleak.

Inspired by the polarizing candidates, Spirit Halloween teamed up with Harris Poll to survey more than 2,000 U.S. adults, asking why they would dress up as either candidate this Halloween, given the choice between Clinton and Trump (chosen by 45% vs. 55%, respectively). Key findings include the following:

The top reason Americans chose Donald Trump is to be funny (39%), whereas the top reason Americans choose Hillary Clinton is because they like her (31%).
About 1 out of 4 Republicans (23%) and Democrats (27%) who indicated that they would dress up as the opposite party's candidate would do so to frighten America.
Twice as many Americans who would choose to dress up as Donald Trump say they would do so to mock him, compared to Americans who would choose to dress as Hillary Clinton to mock her (32% vs 16%).

I have no problem on how Trump runs his campaign.

He is a true maverick, doing it his way, and succeeding like a son of a bitch. THAT is why America loves him.

Like many of you I wonder why Trump keeps going off message. When he sticks to the issues he gains but when he gets pulled into these little things he seems to slip back. It just seems like this would be in the bag if he just stayed on track.

Then it occured to me. This is a very smart man. He took the loan from his father and turned it into an empire. It would be like me giving my boys $10.00 and having them come back with $100,000.00. And he has surrounded himself with a good team. I have to believe that there is a plan and he is not as unruly as he would have us think. Would he had been as successful if that was the case. Maybe he wants to peak at the right time, who knows? I can't think of a better reason for his actions.

Earlier in the thread I mentioned the amount of signs I have seen as I drive in northern, lower Michigan. Every week I see a couple more Trump signs in my travels. I would say in the part of the state that I travel daily there are twenty Trump signs for every Hillary sign. Northern lower Michigan has always been a Rep. area but not this big.

Two weeks ago I went to Downriver Detroit. Big dem area with a large union membership. I expected to see many more Hillary than Trump signs but it was probably 70-30 Trump. People I spoke to that normally vote D were not going to.

Last week I traveled to Marquette for homecoming. My wife and I but love Marquette but don't know if we could live there because of the libs. Again I expected a yuge amount of Hill signs. We saw about 50-50 Trump VS Hill. what surprised us was the amount of Johnson signs, more than the other two put together.

I know that the number of signs is not a scientific measurement. But between signs, turn out at rallies, and things like the hat sales and online polls I think we are in better shape that the MSM would have us think.

With all the corruption in government lately(see Comey) what is to say the traditional polls aren't just as corrupt. Think Brexit.

Yes, I am an optimist but I don't think I have my head in the sand.

Take care, Jim

I pointed that out earlier in this thread. I commented that Trump can't win the state because the illegal aliens won't vote for him, but I think that he will do well here compared to past, relatively recent Republican Presidential candidates by attracting more Libertarian and independent voters.

Digressing a bit, since the Democrats have the illegal alien vote and the homeless (mentally ill / drug addict) vote, the only obstacle blocking the "Progressives" from turning this state into something much worse than California is Eastern Washington and a bicameral legislature.

Trump has to Win so we can stop supporting the muslim terrorists in syria and other places.

Are we actually going to fight Russia in support of the muslim terrorists in syria?

Sadly a lot of what the Russians are saying about our actions in syria are true.
